Round 1

Reviewer 1 Report

The paper is generally well written and makes a useful contribution. I am suggesting some corrections to improve clarity as follows. The second one is crucial.

  1. Please strengthen the abstract and clearly describe ‘unreasonable spatial distribution’ in the abstract.

  2. L:333, L:350 ,L:381 and L:500-502 : I am not able to access the data in Table S1 and S2 , therefore I cannot comment on the Table S1 and S2.
  3. I have some recommendations on the Figures,
  • Figure 4 (L:133) and Figure 7 (L:7) :  are not readable. Please fix these.
  • The highlighted points on each su are important. However Further discussions on the figures are required. For example discuss the results of 26 categories and indexes in Figure 5 with more detail.
  • Please insert the label of the Figure 7-e.

4. Please strengthen the Conclusion Section. It is better not to repeat method and materials (Section 2) and results sections ( Section 3). Please  summarize your overall arguments or findings and leave the reader with a strong final impression in Conclusion (Section 4).

Reviewer 2 Report

Dear Authors

In the manuscript submitted for review, the topic discussed is important and timely, not only for China. Unfortunately, difficulty in understanding some passages due to the uneven level of English does not allow to fully appreciate this work. Especially the last section "Discussion and conclusion" needs a thorough linguistic correction by an English Native speaker. Unfortunately, the size and resolution of most of the presented figures is insufficient because they are unreadable.
