Round 1

Reviewer 1 Report

Line 60. Discuss possible changes due to covid-19. The world's energy consumption had a decrease of about 8 percent compared to previous years. It is not certain that the economy will return to the same growth path as before.

Lines 88-91: It is unclear whether this refers to years or total investments.

Line 196: What about the importance of an educated population?

The biggest weakness is that the research questions are not precisely formulated. See figure 2. Explain what you want answers to in the data collection. Explain why this is necessary. Make it clear what is driving economic growth. Is there an increased population? Is there increased consumption or is there increased regional export?

Explain how the different models you use are connected and come up with some precise sentences that tell the reader what the model will give you answers to. If possible, mention which alternative models you could have used to get an answer to the same question.

When it comes to the cross-flow analysis (input-output analysis) that you have used, you must explain whether the quantities produced or whether the prices are also included. An important point is also whether the coefficients (aij) are stable over time. If the results are to hold, the coefficients must be stable. In a world of great and rapid change, the assumption of stable coefficients may not hold. You should also explain how you measure the size of the coefficients and how you deal with the question of uncertainty in relation to the size of the coefficients in the future.

This manuscript presents an economic evaluation of renewable energy and sustainable urban development of Mamminasata Metropolitan. The urban development of the Metropolitan is influenced by economic growth and dependable sufficient energy supply. The critical factors of Metropolitan growth were analyzed where data was obtained through observation, surveys, and documentation. Based on the data collected and analyzed, a potential for the utilization of renewable energy, the use of water, wind, and biomass energy. The study recommends a renewable energy management strategy to support the economic growth development of urban areas. The acquired data presented verifies the need for such strategies that have to be supported by government and community and business participation.
The paper is clearly presented and well structured.
The introduction section is complete. It includes four key components: motivation, literature survey, contributions, and the organization of the paper.
Research steps are clearly presented and provide a wide set of given data. Just a minor remark to optimize the paper due to page length. The paper is well presented.

Other few comments and suggestions:
- Reference [31] uses a bolded reference
- The Equation (1) has to be corrected as variables are used in the text, which is not in the equation and vice versa (Chi Square, dk..)
- Table 12 has some errors at the text (Zoning-based spatial use control and…)
- Text at Fig. 10
- References should be corrected between [19] – [20] and stated in the text.
