The issue connected with relations between regional freight turnover and the gross domestic product is a very interesting subject. That is why the papers which explain the relation are very needed.

The article fulfills the gap in the existing literature.

However, I have to write about the limitations of the article.

  1. I would like the authors to formulate hypotheses.
  2. The literature review is too short – especially part 2.2 – there are many economic models that can be developed at this point.
  3. Map 2 should be presented before the table. The authors should describe better differences between regions – not just only present the table. The authors should name this part 3.1 – the characteristic of the research area. In the next part, there is to little information about the methodology – it should be better described - ste by step. It seems chaotic now.
  4. At the end of the article, there should be presented the limitations.

The article seems to have been improved by the authors. I have one more suggestion -

Authors formulate a hypothesis: The hypothesis is that transportation has a positive impact on zonal economic growth, 2 while we hypothesize transportation and regional economic growth have a causal 3 relationship for Chinese zones. I suggest present it in the introduction – in my opinion, this location is not acceptable.
