Comments and Suggestions for AuthorsThe authors review flame interaction phenomena in aeronautic combustion chambers. Several clarifications are needed so that the present manuscript can be useful. In many sections, references and sketches are missing.
---
There should be more references added, particularly in the first paragraph of the introduction, to back up the statements. For a review, there are references needed when methods are not further described. E.g. the authors write, "Notable methods include lean premixed prevaporized combustion (LPP), rich burn-quench-lean burn (RQL), and lean direct injection (LDI)." However, none of the methods are described or referenced.
The different kinds of combustors are crucial for the understanding of the story in the introduction. However, it can only be understood (because the differences are not illustrated) if the reader knows the combustor types already. Thus, sketches of the different combustor types should be added such that a reader can follow the text in the introduction.
Moreover in the Section "Fundamental Characteristics of Flames", the authors assume that the reader knows why flame stabilization is needed. However, these concepts should be introduced and well-referenced.
It does not feel that the sentence, "This section may be divided by subheadings. It should provide a concise and precise description of the experimental results, their interpretation, as well as the experimental conclusions that can be drawn." should be in the manuscript.
Besides the references [41] and [42], (2019) "Entropy and vorticity wave generation in realistic gas turbine combustors" should be added to the review, which shows a different picture of the described phenomenon.
Line 488 should be removed.
