A new bisthiourea compound, 1,3,1′,3′-(dinaphthalene-1,8-diyl)bisthiourea, was synthesized. Its structure was characterized by elemental analysis, FT-IR and 1H-, 13C-NMR and MS spectroscopic techniques. The compound was found to selectively recognize fluoride anions among other halides as demonstrated by means of UV-vis absorption spectroscopic date and the naked eye. View Full-Text
