Background: Children’s resilience is a dynamic, multisystemic process shaped by cultural context, supportive relationships, and family values. In Romania, research on children’s resilience and the role of parental values remains limited. Objective: This study examined the relationship between children’s resilience, socio-demographic factors (parental educational level, economic status, family structure, religious affiliation, and ethnicity), and parental values based on Schwartz’s value model. We hypothesized that socially oriented values (security, conformity, tradition, universalism, and benevolence) would be associated with higher resilience. Method: A cross-sectional correlational study was conducted with 245 children aged 8–15 years (M = 10.58, SD = 1.95) and one parent per child. Children’s resilience was assessed using the Child and Youth Resilience Measure (CYRM-28), parental values using the Short Schwartz’s Value Survey (SSVS), and socio-demographic data through a parental questionnaire. Results: Higher resilience was associated with higher parental educational level and with parental values reflecting conservation and self-transcendence. In the regression model, parental educational level, conservation values, Orthodox religious affiliation, and intact family structure were independently associated with resilience and jointly accounted for 22.6% of the variance. Younger children had higher resilience, but age was not a significant predictor in regression analysis. Conclusions: The findings support the socio-ecological perspective on resilience and provide among the first empirical evidence from Romania that parental values, together with family and cultural resources, are associated with children’s resilience. Planetary health has emerged as a critical framework for understanding the interdependence of human, social and ecological systems in the face of escalating global challenges. While discussions of planetary health have largely focused on policy and systems-level interventions, comparatively little attention has been given to the developmental foundations that shape how future generations will respond to these challenges, including climate change, biodiversity loss and widening social inequities. This viewpoint highlights that early childhood flourishing represents a critical foundation for planetary health. Drawing on perspectives from early childhood development, relational health and planetary health, we examine how children’s flourishing is shaped by their relationships, environments and opportunities for growth. Recognising flourishing in early childhood as a planetary health concern broadens current understandings of prevention, early intervention and systems change. Supporting flourishing in early life is not only an investment in children’s present wellbeing, but also in the capacities future generations will need to contribute to sustainable futures and respond to planetary challenges. This study takes a demand-side perspective on sustainable digital government, examining how citizens perceive and value the sustainability of public digital services. The transition to a digital and circular economy places public institutions, no less than firms, under pressure to deliver digital transformation in ways that are technologically robust, socially inclusive, and environmentally responsible; whether citizens register those efforts, as well as in what order, is an open question. Framed by the human-centric logic of Industry 5.0, this study examines how three perceived sustainability dimensions of public digital services (technological, social, and environmental) shape the value citizens derive from e-government services and how that perceived value converts into satisfaction. Using a quantitative design, we surveyed 412 Lithuanian citizens who actively use e-government platforms and tested the model through correlation, multiple regression, and mediation analysis. Perceived technological sustainability showed the strongest association with perceived value and satisfaction, followed by perceived social sustainability and then perceived environmental sustainability, whose contribution is the smallest of the three and materializes chiefly where citizens recognize tangible benefits. Each dimension was measured as a single reflective composite of three self-reported items; the attribute labels used in the separate ranking exercise are not identical to these constructs and the two sets of results should not be read interchangeably. Perceived value emerges as the critical link between perceived sustainability and citizen satisfaction, and citizens rank usability, security, and reliability as their top priorities. The findings indicate a clear hierarchy in citizens’ priorities: value is generated first where systems are perceived as reliable and secure, and only then where inclusiveness and ecological benefits are visible to users. Because all constructs are perceptual, the results describe how citizens rank the sustainability attributes of public digital services, not the fiscal returns of any particular spending decision; linking these perceptions to budgetary data remains a task for future research. Soil contamination represents a pervasive and multifaceted threat to environmental integrity, public health, and sustainable land use. In response to this challenge, this systematic review synthesizes recent advancements in sustainable soil remediation techniques, with an emphasis on bioremediation, nature-based solutions (NBSs), innovative physicochemical methods, and multidimensional assessment frameworks. Utilizing the adapted PRISMA methodology, 3222 peer-reviewed articles published between 2015 and 2025 were initially identified, with 53 studies selected for in-depth evaluation based on methodological rigor, innovation, and relevance to sustainability. The findings reveal a pronounced research trajectory toward biologically mediated remediation strategies, including microbial bioremediation, phytoremediation, and vermiremediation, as well as hybrid systems that incorporate biochar and nano-enabled materials to enhance efficacy. Concurrently, emerging physicochemical techniques, such as stepped steam heating and composite stabilization using fly ash demonstrate potential for high-efficiency contaminant immobilization with reduced environmental trade-offs. The integration of computational tools, particularly machine learning for remediation optimization, and the application of life cycle assessment (LCA) and Multi-Criteria Decision Analysis (MCDA), are redefining how sustainability is quantified and operationalized. In addition to technical innovation, the review underscores critical policy and socio-economic dimensions, including regulatory fragmentation, funding asymmetries, and stakeholder engagement. Comparative analyses of EU and US regulatory frameworks highlight the impact of governance structures on implementation scalability and public acceptance. The review concludes by advocating for a paradigm shift toward holistic, transdisciplinary remediation approaches that are ecologically resilient, economically viable, and socially just aligned with the Sustainable Development Goals (SDG 15.3) and the Paris Agreement. This review provides a comprehensive and integrative perspective on the current state and future directions of sustainable soil remediation, offering a strategic foundation for researchers, policymakers, and practitioners engaged in the restoration of contaminated lands. Green consumption is a crucial pathway for promoting ecological environmental improvement and fostering sustainable economic and social development. Although policies have been continuously implemented and residents’ environmental awareness is gradually increasing, there remains a significant gap in the transformation from cognition to behavior. Promoting green consumption is a systematic project that requires deep coordination among three key actors: the government, enterprises, and residents. However, existing studies have mostly focused on interactions between the government and enterprises, paying insufficient attention to the long-term strategic interactions among all three parties when residents are incorporated into the game system. To address this gap, this study develops a tripartite evolutionary game model that includes the government, enterprises, and residents to analyze the intrinsic driving forces behind the development of green consumption, thereby extending the research perspective to multi-agent dynamic strategic interaction. Through mathematical derivation of the replicator dynamic equations and the Jacobian matrix for each party, this study finds that the system has a unique evolutionarily stable equilibrium point, namely a tripartite synergistic state characterized by active government intervention, green production by enterprises, and green consumption by residents. Sensitivity analysis examines the impact of changes in key parameters on the evolutionary trajectory of the system, providing parameter-level evidence for differentiated policy design. Simulation results indicate that efforts should be directed toward building a collaborative governance system based on government guidance, enterprise responsibility, and resident participation, so as to promote the transformation of green consumption governance from single-dimensional management to pluralistic co-governance. This study examines how social media platform environments influence adolescent consumer replication behavior specifically within sports content, athletic apparel, and active lifestyles through psychological engagement mechanisms, including parasocial interaction, self-congruence, and perceived source credibility. Drawing on media ecology theory and platform affordance perspectives, the study compares users of YouTube, TikTok, and Instagram. To better capture the complex structural mechanics across platforms, the investigation is guided by empirical research questions rather than simple linear hypotheses. Data were collected from 402 high school students in South Korea who had experience with influencer-based social media content. Respondents were categorized based on their primary platform of engagement. The dataset was analyzed using independent-samples t-tests and Welch’s ANOVA with Games–Howell post-hoc tests to examine differences across gender and platform groups. The results indicate significant gender differences in psychological engagement and behavioral outcomes, with female adolescents showing higher levels of parasocial interaction, self-congruence, and consumer replication behavior than male adolescents. Platform-based comparisons further reveal significant differences across user groups. TikTok users reported higher levels of parasocial interaction, self-congruence, source credibility, and consumer replication behavior compared to Instagram users, while differences between TikTok and YouTube users were observed primarily in consumer replication behavior. Although TikTok users demonstrated the highest mean values across several constructs, the relatively small sample size of this group should be considered when interpreting the robustness of platform-level differences. Overall, the findings suggest that platform affordances shape adolescent psychological engagement and subsequent consumer imitation behaviors beyond mere exposure intensity. This study contributes to social media and behavioral science literature by highlighting how platform-specific environments structure psychological engagement and influence consumer replication processes among adolescent users. Against the backdrop of global agricultural sustainability transition, this study examines the mechanism through which peer effects influence the intention–behaviour paradox in farmers’ adoption of organic fertilisers as a substitute for chemical fertilisers, from the perspective of ecological rationality. Using survey data from 505 rice farmers in Hunan Province, this research integrates peer effects and ecological rationality into a unified analytical framework and employs a Probit model to test the mediating role of ecological rationality in the relationship between peer effects and the intention–behaviour gap in chemical fertiliser reduction for sustainable farmland management. The results show that support from family members and people in one’s immediate social environment can effectively alleviate the intention–behaviour paradox among farmers in the process of substituting chemical fertilisers with organic fertilisers, whereas support from friends is positively correlated with this degree of discrepancy. Ecological rationality serves as a mediating variable that strengthens the positive effect of peer influence on the consistency between farmers’ behavioural intentions and actual practices in sustainable agricultural production. These findings provide a new theoretical perspective for understanding farmers’ pro-environmental behaviour, and offer actionable policy implications for advancing agricultural sustainability by enhancing family and community support and improving farmers’ ecological rationality. The adoption of the Ecological and Environmental Code of the People’s Republic of China (March 2026) marks the arrival of the codification era. Building upon existing provisions in the Civil Procedure Law, the Code empowers procuratorial organs and qualified social organizations to initiate environmental civil public interest litigation against acts that harm the public ecological interests. Nevertheless, amid growing demands for preventive governance, room remains for systematic adjustment of the supporting rules governing plaintiff standing. From the perspective of risk-society theory, the preventive function of environmental law requires the scope of protected interest-in-litigation to be moderately extended from traditional actual harm to significant environmental risks. This expansion provokes reflections on the representative qualification within risk-sharing communities and the scope of actionable claims, and constitutes the internal driving force for optimising the plaintiff-standing system. Within China’s current normative system, several issues related to plaintiff standing still deserve attention. Rules on preventive public-interest litigation concerning significant risks are stipulated only in judicial interpretations and have not yet been confirmed by higher-rank legislation. Supplementary restrictions on procuratorial organs’ litigation status set out in judicial interpretations are inconsistent with provisions of the Code. Thresholds for social-organisation plaintiffs remain open to improvement. In addition, existing legislation excludes citizens from public-interest-litigation plaintiffs, leaving theoretical room for exploring limited plaintiff standing for citizens. Adopting normative analysis and case-study methods, this paper draws on risk-society theory, domestic legal norms and judicial practice to examine the legal logic and practical dilemmas of plaintiff standing in environmental civil public-interest litigation in the codification era. It develops differentiated institutional arrangements for three categories of litigants. The findings provide ideas for the implementation of supporting rules under the Code and offer theoretical references for institutional evolution oriented toward preventive governance demands in the future. This article reconsiders the relationship between religions and the environment from a historical and methodological perspective. It argues that the ecological orientation of a religious tradition cannot be deduced directly from its sacred texts, since texts become socially effective only through a range of mediating processes such as interpretation, preaching, ritual, education, institutional authority, devotional practice, and political use. This is especially evident in ancient and medieval societies, where most believers encountered Scripture through mediators rather than as individual readers. The article discusses the influential paradigm inaugurated by Lynn White, the critical contribution of ecofeminism, and recent theological genealogies linking Christian doctrines to ecological and colonial violence. While recognising the importance of these approaches, it stresses the need to avoid anachronism and overly linear explanations. Concepts such as “nature” and “environment” have changed over time, and the environmental question, as currently understood, belongs to the modern and contemporary world. The article also criticises the public tendency to rank religions according to their supposed ecological value. Religious environmentalism is interpreted as a contemporary process of reinterpretation, in which inherited symbols, doctrines, and practices are resemanticised in response to the ecological crisis. In doing so, it proposes mediation as a central category for studying religions and environmental thought historically. Full article

The transmission of trauma across generations has traditionally been explained through genetic, epigenetic, familial, and attachment-based mechanisms. While these approaches have generated valuable insights, they remain insufficient for explaining the persistence of psychological vulnerability in contexts where the original traumatic event has disappeared but maladaptive patterns continue to emerge across generations. This paper introduces the Contextual Resonance Theory of Psychopathology (CRTP), a novel cognitive–systemic framework proposing that transgenerational trauma is maintained through the recursive reproduction of trauma-shaped environments rather than exclusively through biological inheritance. According to this model, traumatic experiences generate adaptive cognitive, emotional, and behavioral responses that become embedded within family narratives, relational structures, institutional practices, and cultural expectations. Over time, these adaptations evolve into self-maintaining contextual systems that continuously communicate threat, unpredictability, and hypervigilance to subsequent generations. The theory introduces the concepts of contextual traumatic inertia, distributed psychopathology, and recursive contextual resonance to explain how vulnerability becomes socially reproduced even in the absence of direct trauma exposure. Drawing on predictive processing, ecological psychology, systems theory, and contemporary trauma research, the paper proposes that psychopathology emerges from persistent interactions between individuals and pathogenic environments rather than solely from intrapsychic dysfunction. Furthermore, a complementary mechanism termed corrective recontextualization is proposed as a pathway for reversing transgenerational vulnerability through repeated exposure to safe, predictable, and psychologically restorative contexts. The framework offers an integrative perspective capable of bridging cognitive neuroscience, developmental psychopathology, trauma studies, and mental health intervention research. Clinical, educational, organizational, and societal implications are discussed, alongside future directions for empirical validation and neurocognitive investigation. Full article

Educators are working within increasingly complex environments characterized by rapid change and uncertainty, where future conditions, expectations, and appropriate responses are often ambiguous or difficult to anticipate. Technological innovation, political and social polarization, climate-related concerns, shifting policy landscapes, workforce pressures, and the lasting effects of public health disruptions each introduce distinct yet interconnected forms of uncertainty. While these domains of uncertainty have generated substantial bodies of scholarship, less attention has been paid to how multiple forms of uncertainty converge within educators’ professional lives. This essay introduces the concept of stacked uncertainties as a lens for understanding how overlapping uncertainties accumulate, interact, and amplify across interconnected technological, socio-political, ecological, organizational, and policy systems. From this perspective, multiple uncertainties compete for the same personal, relational, organizational, and material resources that support educator well-being and resilience. Resilience is understood as a dynamic process shaped by access to adaptive resources across ecological systems. Applying the concept of stacked uncertainties has practical implications for educational leadership, policy, professional learning, and initiatives aimed at strengthening conditions that support educator well-being and resilience amid ongoing complexity and change. Migrant resettlement communities in large-scale development regions face persistent pressures from environmental change, livelihood disruption, and social restructuring. Evaluating resilience in such communities requires a framework that captures both external stressors and internal adaptive capacity. This study asks whether differences in resilience between resettlement communities are driven more by differences in external pressure exposure or by differences in internal development conditions. To address this question it applies a Pressure–State–Response (PSR) framework to assess community resilience in the Three Gorges Reservoir Area (TGRA) of China. A four-level indicator system of 29 variables was developed across pressure, state, and response dimensions. Weights were determined by combining the Analytic Hierarchy Process with the entropy method; standardisation and entropy weights were computed across all 25 surveyed communities. Survey data statistical records, and remote sensing information were collected from 25 migrant resettlement communities. Three of these communities—CT, SQ, and GGB—were then selected by purposive maximum-variation sampling for detailed comparison. Results show that overall resilience ranked CT (0.646) > GGB (0.600) > SQ (0.483), with state resilience contributing the largest share to composite scores in all three communities. Obstacle-factor analysis revealed distinct constraint profiles: CT was primarily limited by ecological pressure, SQ by weak livelihood development, and GGB by limited industrial diversity and incomplete social integration. These findings indicate that resilience in resettlement communities depends more on internal development quality than on exposure levels alone; a Monte Carlo analysis confirmed that this ordering held in 99.9% of simulated draws. Differentiated governance strategies are needed rather than uniform approaches. Small-scale fisheries are socio-ecological systems in which resource users interact with environmental conditions, fishing regulations, community initiatives, and institutional actors. Understanding how fishers perceive and report these interactions provides information on the social context of fisheries management, although such perceptions cannot substitute for independent assessments of ecological sustainability, behavioural compliance, or governance effectiveness. This study characterized fishers’ environmental perceptions, self-reported fishing practices, participation in environmental education and conservation activities, and perceptions of community and institutional involvement in fisheries management in Tecomate Lagoon, Guerrero, Mexico. A cross-sectional quantitative design was used, and structured questionnaires were administered to 120 active artisanal fishers selected through simple random sampling. Data were analyzed descriptively using frequencies and percentages. Respondents primarily associated the lagoon with economic (49.17%) and food-related (25.83%) functions. Declining water levels (60.00%) and reduced species abundance (40.00%) were the environmental changes reported by respondents. Regarding fishing practices, 94.17% stated that they complied with fishing regulations, and 100% reported releasing organisms below the minimum legal catch size. Environmental training was reported by 95.00% of respondents, while 94.17% reported participation in conservation-related activities. CONAPESCA (80.83%) and UAGro (19.17%) were identified as institutions involved in fisheries-related initiatives. These findings characterize the perceptions and self-reported experiences of surveyed fishers and should not be interpreted as evidence of ecological sustainability, actual behavioural compliance, educational effectiveness, or governance performance. The contribution of the study lies in systematically documenting the resource-user perspective as a component of the social dimension of the fishery. This information provides a descriptive baseline that can complement future ecological, behavioural, institutional, and longitudinal assessments of small-scale fisheries in coastal lagoon systems. The widespread penetration of generative artificial intelligence is reshaping adolescents’ social ecosystems and emotional experiences, while challenging the interpretive boundaries of traditional connectedness theories. Following the logical path of “connotation reconstruction–extension transformation–concept construction”, this study integrates the ethics of care and neo-ecological theory to systematically construct a theoretical framework of artificial intelligence connectedness. First, tracing theories across philosophy, sociology, and psychology, this research reconstructs the core connotation of connectedness rooted in the ethics of care, proposes the continuum hypothesis of caring relationships, and clarifies AI’s unique position on this continuum. Second, from the neo-ecological perspective, this paper sorts out the extended structure of connectedness and demonstrates the ecological shifts brought by the rise of virtual microsystems and the entry of AI actors. On this basis, the study formally defines artificial intelligence connectedness and establishes its three-dimensional structure: demand identification, two-way behavioral engagement, and responsive confirmation. Through systematic comparison with adjacent concepts, this paper identifies its uniqueness and positions it as a specific subtype of connectedness for the digital era. It defines it as a perceived bond that is both psychologically real and ethically asymmetric, carrying asymmetric risks under particular usage conditions and design logics. Finally, this paper builds a dual interpretive framework integrating traditional connectedness and artificial intelligence connectedness, verifies its incremental validity and unique predictive power, and puts forward falsifiable research propositions. This study expands the boundary of connectedness theory and provides an integrated analytical framework for parsing the complex mental health mechanisms of adolescents in the digital age. However, it should be noted that the artificial intelligence connectedness proposed in this study is currently a theoretical construct; its scientific validity and applicability remain to be verified through the development of standardized measurement tools and systematic empirical research. Sustainable urban development is increasingly shaped by the joint evolution of social development, ecological conditions, and technological capacity. Understanding how these dimensions are associated with green economic efficiency (GEE) is therefore important for advancing urban green transition. This study examines GEE from a social–ecological–technological (S–E–T) systems perspective and incorporates spatial dependence into the empirical framework. Using panel data for 281 prefecture-level cities in China from 2011 to 2022, this study measures GEE with a Super-SBM model, characterizes its spatiotemporal evolution, and estimates a two-way fixed-effects spatial Durbin model to distinguish local and cross-city associations. The results show that: (1) urban GEE improved overall, while maintaining a clear southeast-high and northwest-low spatial gradient; (2) regional disparities widened over time, and efficiency transitions exhibited strong path dependence and spatial neighborhood effects; (3) the spatial Durbin model is preferred over the SAR and SEM alternatives, indicating that both local conditions and geographically connected cities should be considered; (4) green patenting shows the most stable positive association with GEE, both locally and across connected cities; and (5) population density and ecological conditions display differentiated local and cross-city associations. These findings show that combining the S–E–T framework with spatial panel analysis provides a systematic approach for understanding urban GEE and offers evidence for coordinated green development policies across connected cities.
