Modern industries cannot escape entropy. In this study, we argue that organizational transilience constitutes a fundamental pillar of long-term sustainability—an argument grounded in the automotive sector, where pressure for ecological transition is arguably at its peak. Industrial organizations facing volatile, highly entropic conditions increasingly depend on the relational skills of their leaders to sustain and reinforce resilience. However, these skills remain poorly integrated into quantitative research frameworks. We address this gap by developing a nonlinear dynamical system, built on three coupled differential equations, that formalizes how a leader’s cognitive, conative, and relational competencies shape organizational evolution across five maturity states: fragility, robustness, transformation, antifragility, and transilience. The resulting framework suggests how these combined soft skills may expand an organization’s dynamic carrying capacity through strategic reconfiguration. Stability analysis further reveals that transilience is not simply a qualitative aspiration, but a mathematically traceable outcome of human agency. Taken together, our findings offer formal evidence that soft skills are structural imperatives—not optional assets—for organizational viability in high-entropy markets. Full article

The agricultural sector is increasingly exposed to a complex set of climatic, economic, and institutional pressures, indicating that resilience assessment alone is insufficient; investments must also be strategically directed toward strengthening resilience. In response, this study proposes an integrated framework for assessing the resilience of crop farms and supporting the strategic screening and relative prioritization of investments at the regional level. The framework is applied to Romania, which is administratively organized into eight NUTS-2 (Nomenclature of Territorial Units for Statistics) development regions. The framework combines a Farm Resilience Composite Index (ICRF)—structured around five interconnected pillars (productive, economic, technological, ecological, and organizational)—with a Strategic Resilience Investment Score (SRIS), designed to translate resilience diagnostic outcomes into strategic screening and relative investment priorities. The methodology integrates normalized regional sub-indicators, expert-based weighting, and catch-up gap measures relative to the observed regional benchmark. It further incorporates complementarity and substitution relationships among sub-indicators, thereby capturing the systemic nature of resilience. Robustness is ensured through sensitivity analysis, Monte Carlo simulations, and a leave-one-region-out jackknife procedure. The results indicate that investment priorities are not driven solely by the magnitude of regional deficits. Instead, they emerge at the intersection of catch-up needs, systemic relevance, and the stability of outcomes under uncertainty. Across all regions, production stability, access to the agricultural knowledge and innovation system (AKIS), and farm-level digitalization consistently emerge as cross-regional priorities. Moreover, at least two of the three initial priorities are retained in 55 of the 56 leave-one-region-out comparisons, indicating a high degree of robustness. In contrast, ecological, economic, and organizational indicators exhibit greater territorial specificity. Overall, the ICRF–SRIS framework provides a transparent and analytically grounded tool for supporting place-based agricultural policy and guiding investment allocation in the context of post-2027 Common Agricultural Policy (CAP). Digital transformation has become a central management agenda for higher education institutions seeking to improve teaching quality, organizational resilience, and long-term educational sustainability. However, the managerial pathways through which digital leadership contributes to sustainable teaching innovation remain insufficiently explained. Drawing on digital leadership, organizational learning, and sustainable higher education literature, this study develops and tests a conceptual path model linking digital leadership, organizational learning, faculty professional development, institutional support, and sustainable teaching innovation. A cross-sectional survey was conducted with 300 university faculty members and teaching-related personnel who had experience with digital teaching tools. Composite-score-based path analysis showed that digital leadership positively predicted organizational learning, faculty professional development, and sustainable teaching innovation. Organizational learning and faculty professional development also significantly predicted sustainable teaching innovation and served as indirect transmission mechanisms. Institutional support had a positive direct effect but did not significantly moderate the organizational learning–innovation relationship. The findings indicate that sustainable teaching innovation depends not only on digital infrastructure but also on leadership-enabled learning processes, faculty development, and institutional support. This study contributes an educational management strategy model that reframes sustainable teaching innovation as an organizational capability shaped by leadership, learning, professional development, and support mechanisms. This study examines the role of digital transformation in strengthening organizational resilience in Moroccan tourism accommodation firms operating in crisis-prone environments. Successive economic, health, and environmental disruptions have highlighted the need to better understand how entrepreneurial orientation contributes to organizational resilience and whether digital transformation acts as a mediating mechanism. Data were collected from 137 owners and managers of Moroccan tourism accommodation firms and analyzed using partial least squares structural equation modeling (PLS-SEM). Entrepreneurial orientation was operationalized through its three dimensions (innovativeness, proactiveness, and risk-taking), while organizational resilience was assessed across the readiness, response, and recovery phases to provide a multidimensional perspective. The results show that digital transformation plays a significant mediating role in enhancing organizational resilience. Among the entrepreneurial orientation dimensions, proactiveness emerged as the strongest predictor, exerting significant direct and indirect effects on all resilience phases through digital transformation. Innovativeness contributed primarily through its indirect effect via digital transformation, whereas risk-taking showed no significant direct or indirect influence. These findings suggest that digital transformation constitutes a key organizational capability through which entrepreneurial orientation strengthens resilience. The study contributes to the literature by adopting a multidimensional approach to both entrepreneurial orientation and organizational resilience, and provides practical insights for managers seeking to enhance resilience through digital transformation. The adoption of circular economy (CE) in agri-food systems has been accelerated by rising environmental pressures and resource inefficiencies. This systematic review examines the thematic and conceptual evolution of CE research in agri-food systems between 2018 and 2025, focusing on the transition from waste management toward the strategic integration of circular principles across food value chains. By combining bibliometric mapping with a structured literature review, the study analyzes publication trends, intellectual structures, dominant research themes, and emerging directions within the field. The findings reveal a rapid growth in scientific output and a shift from conceptual frameworks toward applied management strategies, including performance measurement, organizational innovation, and decision-support tools. Technological solutions for waste valorization increasingly support regenerative food system models. Despite these advances, important research gaps remain, particularly regarding geographical concentration, the limited integration of consumer perspectives, and the need for broader assessment frameworks capable of evaluating the systemic impacts of circular strategies. Although nutrition-related aspects appear only marginally in the current literature, they represent a promising avenue for future interdisciplinary research rather than a dominant research theme. Overall, the field is evolving toward a more systemic and implementation-oriented perspective capable of supporting resilient and sustainable food systems. Full article

Corporate resilience has become a critical capability for firms to cope with increasing environmental uncertainties and external shocks. Against the backdrop of the rapid development of the digital economy, this study examines whether digital transformation enhances corporate resilience and further investigates whether environmental, social, and governance (ESG) performance serves as a complementary transmission mechanism in this relationship. Drawing on resource orchestration theory, this study uses panel data of Chinese A-share listed companies from 2016 to 2024 and estimates a series of firm fixed-effects models. The results indicate that digital transformation significantly enhances corporate resilience, and the findings remain robust after a series of robustness checks and endogeneity tests are conducted. Further analysis reveals that ESG performance partially mediates the relationship between digital transformation and corporate resilience, suggesting that responsible business practices complement the resilience-enhancing effect of digital transformation. The results of the heterogeneity analysis further indicate that the positive effect of digital transformation is significantly stronger for high-tech firms. In addition, firms exhibit substantial variation in the consistency between digital transformation communication and actual digital investment. Further analysis suggests that greater alignment between digital transformation communication and substantive implementation is associated with stronger resilience outcomes, providing supplementary evidence on the implementation process of digital transformation. This study contributes to the literature on digital transformation and corporate resilience by revealing the resource orchestration process through which digital transformation creates organizational value and identifying ESG performance as a complementary transmission mechanism. The findings also have practical implications for firms seeking to strengthen their resilience and achieve sustainable development in an increasingly uncertain environment. Full article

Capital structure theory has historically been dominated by the objective of maximizing firm value through the optimal combination of debt and equity. However, contemporary environments characterized by systemic uncertainty, financial volatility, and elevated risk exposure have highlighted the limitations of an exclusively value-oriented perspective. In response, this study adopts a theory-building approach and develops a conceptual framework grounded in corporate financial resilience through an integrative theoretical review. Drawing on a critical examination of the principal theories of capital structure, including Modigliani and Miller’s propositions, trade-off theory, pecking order theory, agency theory, signaling theory, and market timing theory, the study argues that long-term financial sustainability depends not only on value maximization but also on the organizational capacity to absorb shocks, preserve liquidity, maintain solvency, and reduce vulnerability to financial distress. As its primary theoretical contribution, the study extends the explanatory domain of capital structure theory by formalizing a resilience-oriented framework that integrates key constructs, conceptual relationships, and theoretical propositions linking leverage, liquidity, solvency, financial flexibility, and financial resilience. Within this framework, moderate leverage, financial flexibility, and operational stability emerge as central mechanisms for strengthening corporate continuity under conditions of systemic uncertainty. Workplace violence (WPV) is a major occupational hazard for nurses in Thailand, negatively affecting psychological well-being, professional confidence, and patient care. In this quantitative cross-sectional analytic study involving 415 nurses, 43.61% reported experiencing at least one incident of WPV during the previous 12 months. Verbal abuse (41.20%) and physical violence (13.25%) were the most frequently reported forms, with a higher prevalence observed in urban hospitals than in rural hospitals (53.66% vs. 33.81%). Higher WPV risk was associated with working in medical wards (adjusted incidence rate ratio [Adj IRR] 3.33) and emergency departments (Adj IRR 2.47), caring for male-only patients (Adj IRR 1.87), younger age (Adj IRR 3.31), divorced or separated status (Adj IRR 3.05), rotating day and night shifts (Adj IRR 2.03), and extreme concern about WPV (Adj IRR 4.57). The psychological impact was considerable. Hypervigilance was the most common response (66.30%), especially following physical violence (76.36%). More than 41% of affected nurses reported intentions to resign or transfer and reduced professional confidence. Reporting incidents was often perceived as ineffective, contributing to underreporting. Nurses identified clear disciplinary measures, increased staffing, improved workplace environments, stronger security systems, and organizational support as key prevention priorities. These findings highlight the urgent need for context-specific interventions, targeted staff training, and organizational strategies to protect nurse well-being, strengthen workforce resilience, and maintain quality patient care. Dual-purpose cattle systems are among the most important livestock production systems in tropical regions, contributing significantly to food production and rural livelihoods. However, their considerable diversity in management practices, resource endowments, producer-reported climatic stressors, and production intensity remains insufficiently characterized for effective policy design. Therefore, this study aimed to identify and characterize farm typologies by integrating productive, structural, environmental, and management dimensions and to describe differences in farm-system vulnerability among them. Data were collected from 132 commercial farms using structured surveys. Twenty-three variables were analyzed using Principal Component Analysis of which 22 reached the predefined absolute loading threshold for component interpretation. The resulting component scores were subsequently used in the hierarchical cluster analysis. Seven principal components with eigenvalues > 1 were identified, explaining 68.87% of the total variance. Cluster 1 comprised extensive, milk-oriented farms with the lowest milk productivity but the greatest pasture availability and diversity; nevertheless, these farms were particularly affected by drought. Cluster 2 represented the predominant dual-purpose model, with intermediate productive, environmental, and diversification characteristics. Cluster 3 included more intensive and productive farms with limited land availability, the lowest soil conservation and pasture availability scores, high maintenance expenditure, and low investment capacity. Cluster 4 showed the highest milk productivity but also the greatest exposure to excessive rainfall and northerly winds. Accordingly, appropriate strategies should prioritize drought preparedness and forage conservation in Cluster 1, gradual improvements in efficiency and environmental management in Cluster 2, soil and pasture restoration and reduced maintenance dependence in Cluster 3, and climate-resilient infrastructure and risk-management measures in Cluster 4. These findings demonstrate that dual-purpose cattle systems are highly heterogeneous systems structured by multiple productive, environmental, and organizational dimensions. The results demonstrate that typology-specific interventions are more appropriate than uniform recommendations and provide a framework for improving productivity, sustainability, and climate resilience in tropical livestock systems. Background/Objectives: Burnout among healthcare professionals has emerged as a major occupational and organizational challenge with important implications for workforce sustainability, patient safety, and healthcare system performance. Although the scientific literature on burnout has expanded substantially, an integrated understanding of its global development, research structure, and scientific impact remains limited. This study aimed to examine the evolution, thematic development, and citation dynamics of burnout research among healthcare professionals through an integrated bibliometric approach combining science mapping, multilevel citation modelling, and critical literature synthesis. Methods: A bibliometric analysis was conducted using publications indexed in the Web of Science Core Collection between 1987 and 2024. Science mapping techniques were applied using Bibliometrix and VOSviewer to evaluate publication trends, collaboration networks, thematic development, and citation patterns. In addition, a multilevel negative binomial regression model was used to identify publication characteristics associated with citation impact. Results: A total of 1232 publications were included in the analysis. Scientific production increased markedly after 2020, temporally coinciding with the COVID-19 pandemic and growing scientific interest in healthcare workforce wellbeing. Research output was concentrated in high-income countries, particularly the United States, China, the United Kingdom, Canada, and Australia. Physicians and nurses dominated the literature, while non-clinical healthcare workers remained underrepresented. The thematic analysis indicated an increasing emphasis on organizational and system-level determinants of burnout alongside the continued presence of individual-centered perspectives. The multilevel negative binomial model identified longer title length and a greater number of author-provided keywords as being associated with lower expected citation counts, whereas a greater number of Keywords Plus terms was associated with higher expected citation counts. Conclusions: Burnout research has evolved into a rapidly expanding and increasingly interdisciplinary field. However, important gaps persist regarding geographic representation, workforce diversity, methodological standardization, and organizational intervention research. Future studies should move beyond descriptive approaches and further evaluate organizational interventions and workforce-related strategies to strengthen the evidence base that may inform healthcare policy and organizational practice. As violence and professional precarity intensify for journalists, resilience has become a central framework for understanding how journalists continue working under sustained risk. However, journalism studies research has largely conceptualized resilience through hierarchical models that distribute responsibility across bounded levels of authority. This conceptual article offers a critical synthesis of journalism studies research, resilience scholarship, ecological approaches, and public health prevention frameworks to examine how existing models align with contemporary threats toward journalists. We first map prevailing orientations to resilience (e.g., individual, organizational, and institutional) and show how these models can privilege episodic or reactive responses to journalistic harms and obscure gaps in coordinated interventions to mitigate violence. We then advance an ecological reorientation of journalistic resilience grounded in networked ecologies. We propose a three-part framework (individual-in-relation, collective, and networked) that conceptualizes resilience as a relational and cross-institutional capacity. Finally, we introduce public health prevention models as a translational lens for operationalizing ecological resilience as coordinated infrastructure spanning prevention, intervention, and recovery. This framework offers a conceptual foundation for studying and strengthening resilience across contemporary media environments. Full article

Contemporary logistics systems operate in increasingly volatile and uncertain environments, where disruptions and digital transformation jointly shape system performance and continuity. In this context, resilience has emerged as a critical capability; however, existing approaches often remain fragmented, representing resilience either as isolated capabilities or aggregated indicators, while lacking an integrated conceptual architecture for resilience assessment. This study introduces the House of Resilience (HoR) as a hierarchical conceptual architecture that represents resilience as an emergent multi-layer system property and operationalizes this concept through the Fuzzy House of Resilience Assessment Model (FHOR-RAM). The model applies fuzzy logic with linguistic variables, triangular fuzzy numbers, and a hierarchical Mamdani-type fuzzy inference system to capture uncertainty in expert assessments and aggregate resilience measures at both layer and system levels. The proposed framework is illustrated through a real-world procurement system case study conducted in a manufacturing company operating within a global supply network. The results indicate a moderate overall resilience level (RHoR = 0.402), with the weakest performance observed in the structural (R3 = 0.31), strategic (R4 = 0.33), and technological and risk assessment (R1 = 0.34) layers, while the operational and adaptive layer achieved a moderate resilience level (R2 = 0.51). The diagnostic analysis identified supplier dependency, lead-time instability, limited resilience governance, and insufficient digital capabilities as the principal resilience bottlenecks. Scenario analysis demonstrated that improvements targeting individual resilience dimensions provide only limited system-level gains, while coordinated development across multiple resilience layers enables a transition toward higher resilience levels (RHoR = 0.647). The findings confirm that resilience should be addressed as a multidimensional and multi-layer system property rather than as an isolated technological capability. The study demonstrates that fuzzy inference provides an effective operational mechanism for translating the House of Resilience conceptual architecture into an interpretable and decision-oriented resilience assessment framework under uncertainty. From a systems-thinking perspective, firms can be understood as adaptive socio-technical systems in which strategic resource allocation, innovation activities, organizational capabilities, and environmental conditions interact through dynamic feedback processes. This study examines whether strategic focus alternation, defined as the recurrent reallocation of resources between technology focus and market focus, is associated with firm resilience. Using 30,930 firm-year observations of Chinese A-share listed firms from 2010 to 2024, we construct a firm-level measure of strategic focus alternation and examine its association with resilience using industry and year fixed-effects models, complemented by multiple robustness analyses, propensity score matching, instrumental-variable estimation, Heckman two-stage estimation, and within-firm analyses. The results indicate that strategic focus alternation is positively associated with firm resilience, although the magnitude of this association is economically modest, suggesting that strategic focus alternation represents one contributing element within a broader organizational resilience system rather than a dominant managerial determinant. Strategic focus alternation is also positively associated with persistent innovation and ambidextrous innovation synergy; however, mediation analyses do not support these innovation outcomes as statistically significant transmission mechanisms linking strategic focus alternation to resilience. Furthermore, while the capability to undertake strategic focus alternation is positively associated with resilience across firms, greater within-firm alternation intensity, measured by switching frequency and magnitude, does not generate additional resilience benefits and is marginally negatively associated with resilience, indicating potential coordination and adjustment costs. Entrepreneurial orientation and knowledge integration capability further strengthen the positive association between strategic focus alternation and resilience. Finally, the findings suggest that organizational resilience depends less on frequent strategic switching than on disciplined strategic reconfiguration that maintains dynamic stability while enabling organizational adaptation under uncertainty. By integrating systems thinking with research on strategic resource allocation, organizational resilience, and innovation, this study provides a more comprehensive understanding of how firms balance strategic flexibility and organizational stability in dynamic environments. The current paper concerns the interplay of the circular economy (CE) and global energy threats facing the hospitality industry. Despite the growing emphasis on CE implementation within sustainable hospitality, little empirical evidence explains how CE practices enhance hotels’ green energy resilience amid escalating global energy threats and resource uncertainty, particularly in emerging markets. Addressing this research gap, this paper investigates how the 6R CE model (Redesign, Reduce, Reuse, Recycle, Recover, and Rethink) strengthens green energy resilience in sustainable hotels while examining the moderating roles of policy clarity and regulations together with the influences of stakeholder collaboration and management commitment within the Saudi Arabian hospitality sector. The study adopted a four-wave temporally separated quantitative survey design, collecting data from 360 managers working in Saudi sustainable hotels across four time intervals. The proposed conceptual model was evaluated using partial least squares structural equation modeling (PLS-SEM), complemented by mediation and moderation analyses. The findings demonstrate that global energy threats strongly stimulate CE adoption (β = 0.848, p < 0.001), while CE practices substantially improve green energy resilience (β = 0.719, p < 0.001). The results further reveal a strong indirect effect through the Strength of CE Implementation (β = 0.813, p < 0.001), highlighting implementation maturity as a critical mechanism through which circular initiatives translate into resilience outcomes. The proposed model explained 55% of the variance in CE implementation and demonstrated substantial predictive capability for energy resilience. Policy clarity and regulations significantly strengthen the CE–resilience relationship, while stakeholder collaboration and management commitment further enhance these relationships. The results further identify the 6R circularity framework as an effective strategic pathway through which sustainable hotels can mitigate global energy threats while enhancing organizational resilience. This study contributes to the CE and sustainable hospitality literature by providing one of the first empirical models linking CE implementation with green energy resilience under conditions of global energy uncertainty, offering actionable implications for policymakers, hotel managers, and the implementation of Saudi Vision 2030. The intensification of urbanization, the growth in mobility demand and the multiplication of disruptions expose intelligent transport systems to new operational vulnerabilities, making resilience a central issue for the management of transport networks. By conducting a systematic literature review, in accordance with the PRISMA 2020 and PRISMA-S recommendations, this article examines the extent to which, through which functions, under which conditions, and with what level of evidence digital twins can support the resilience of intelligent transport systems. The literature search covered the 2020–2025 period across Scopus, IEEE Xplore, and TRID and was complemented by backward and forward citation chaining, targeting research and review articles dealing with digital twins in transport, mobility, transport infrastructures, or ITS, as well as their links with resilience mechanisms. After screening and eligibility assessment, 61 studies were included in the final analytical corpus. The results show that digital twins are no longer limited to a simple virtual representation of the physical system but are increasingly established as service-oriented cyber–physical layers capable of supporting functions that may contribute to resilience, including real-time visibility, disruption anticipation, scenario simulation, dynamic optimization, decision support, service continuity, and post-disruption learning. The study also highlights several persistent limitations, notably conceptual instability, the sectoral concentration of studies, the lack of large-scale empirical validation, and the insufficient consideration of organizational, human, and governance dimensions. It concludes that digital twins should not be interpreted as automatically enhancing the resilience of ITS, but rather as having the potential to support resilience when they are associated with reliable data, interoperability, synchronization, model reliability, and the ability of stakeholders to transform digital intelligence into coordinated operational responses.
