The textile and clothing value chain faces increasing pressure to improve reuse and recycling rates, particularly in post-consumer scenarios, where garments must be rapidly assessed, classified, and routed toward appropriate end-of-life pathways. Post-consumer garment sorting must preserve reusable items while directing non-reusable textiles toward appropriate recycling or inspection pathways. This article presents a two-stage image-only decision-support framework that combines YOLO-based image classification, a locally executed vision–language model (VLM), two ConvNeXt-Tiny textile classifiers, and deterministic routing rules. In Stage 1, YOLO classifiers estimate garment type and dominant color, while Qwen2.5-VL-3B-Instruct VLM assesses visible stains, holes, pilling or lint, tags, dirt or discoloration, intentional distressing, condition, and supporting evidence. The backend validates these outputs and applies explicit precedence and uncertainty rules to assign categories A (resale), B (donation/reuse), C (recycling-oriented pre-sorting), or D (critical review). Stage 2 is triggered only for C/D garments and aggregates predictions from multiple RGB crops to estimate broad material-family hints and visible fabric structure before proposing an initial route, container, color group, recycling mechanism, and validation requirement. The YOLO garment-type classifier achieved 78.6% top-1 and 99.2% top-5 accuracy on the test set. The ConvNeXt-Tiny fabric-structure classifier achieved 78.55% accuracy and 78.64% macro-F1, whereas the material-family classifier achieved 56.39% accuracy and 55.83% macro-F1. In a controlled Stage 1 pilot test, binary reuse-oriented versus additional-processing routing achieved 80.0% accuracy, 75.0% precision, 75.0% recall, and an F1-score of 0.75. A Stage 2 end-to-end pilot test achieved 66.7% correctly recommended final routes, with macro-F1 of 0.767. These results provide evidence that complementary models and explicit validation rules can support preliminary explainable garment triage. However, RGB imagery cannot confirm exact fiber composition, blend percentages, or chemical contamination. Full article

This paper presents a single-company field study on hybrid user memory filtering for Large Language Model (LLM)-based knowledge management systems, aiming to reduce contextual noise from irrelevant or outdated persistent memories. We propose the Hybrid Adaptive Filtering Engine (HAFE), which combines intent classification, ontology-based filtering, behavioral reuse prediction, and collaborative role-level comparison. HAFE was integrated into an industrial KM platform deployed at a major steel producer. In a field experiment with 120 engineers, HAFE reduced irrelevant memory retention by 41%, improved Mean Reciprocal Rank (MRR) by 12.5%, and increased user satisfaction (SUS score) by 18% (all p < 0.01). The results suggest that proactive memory quality control can improve effectiveness and user experience in this specific industrial KMS setting, while further cross-domain validation is required. Underground heritage represents a hidden urban resource for cultural regeneration and sustainable tourism, preserving historical layers, wartime memory, and local identity. Positioning the shelters as a form of Underground Built Heritage (UBH), this study examines how concealed civil-defense spaces can be reinterpreted as local cultural heritage resources before systematic reuse. However, enclosed and unfamiliar spaces are often perceived as risky, making adaptive reuse socially sensitive. This study investigates Jingdezhen’s underground air-raid shelters through a scenario-based survey and partial least squares structural equation modeling (PLS-SEM). Using an extended Value-Attitude-Behavior (VAB) framework incorporating perceived authenticity, anticipated affective identification, safety assurance, and perceived risk, this study identifies factors influencing pre-development public acceptance. Results show that public acceptance is shaped by cognitive evaluation of value and anticipated affective identification, while perceived risk constrains behavioral intentions. Perceived authenticity enhances value perception and anticipated affective identification; perceived value strengthens attitudes; safety assurance shows a small but statistically significant negative association with perceived risk, although most variance in perceived risk remains unexplained; and an exploratory moderation analysis further suggested that perceived risk may weaken the attitude–visit intention relationship. Although the estimated model showed a relatively high SRMR, the results are interpreted as prediction-oriented ex ante evidence rather than as a covariance-based model with strong global fit. These findings provide prediction-oriented ex ante evidence for the sustainable reuse of underground heritage, supporting heritage interpretation, risk management, and urban regeneration aligned with SDG 11. Background: Integrative and complementary medicine has gained increasing recognition as a patient-centered approach to managing chronic conditions, particularly through the integration of advanced medical technologies into conventional care. These approaches aim to enhance treatment effectiveness, improve patient experience, and support long-term health outcomes, while promoting a more holistic and personalized model of healthcare delivery. Methods: This study employs a cross-sectional quantitative research design based on a sample of 159 patients who underwent treatments involving advanced medical technologies integrated into integrative medicine protocols. Data was collected using a structured questionnaire and analyzed using a structural equation modeling approach to assess the relationships between key determinants and patient satisfaction. Results: The findings indicate that patient satisfaction is significantly associated with perceived benefits and trust, while prior experience and perceived costs exert weaker effects. In contrast, perceived outcomes and service quality did not show statistically significant associations with patient satisfaction within the analyzed sample. The independent variables included in the model explained 69% of the variance in patient satisfaction. Furthermore, patient satisfaction explained 42% of the variance in patients’ intention to reuse such treatments. Conclusions: The patients included in the study reported high levels of satisfaction with advanced medical technology-based treatments in integrative medicine. The results highlight the importance of perceptual factors, particularly perceived benefits and trust, in shaping patient satisfaction within integrative care settings. These findings may support the integration of advanced medical technologies into patient-centered healthcare models and contribute to the ongoing development of innovative and sustainable practices in integrative and complementary medicine. Parking reservation systems (PRS) are promoted as smart urban parking tools, yet their continued use remains limited because users face both technological uncertainty and schedule-related uncertainty. This study develops a behavioral analysis framework that combines structural equation modeling (SEM), a stated-preference binary logit model, and Random Forest learning. SEM examines how perceived usefulness, perceived ease of use, perceived risk, social influence, and behavioral attitude shape intention to reuse. The binary logit model examines whether users retain their reserved lot under 10 reservation mechanisms and three arrival scenarios. Random Forest is then used to test nonlinear prediction and interaction effects, with intention to reuse measured as the average of the two reuse-intention items and model performance evaluated by the conventional coefficient of determination (R2), mean squared error, and mean absolute error. The results show that perceived risk suppresses perceived usefulness and behavioral attitude, early and especially late arrival sharply reduce reservation retention, and discount intensity is the strongest positive operational lever. Random Forest additionally shows that the effect of perceived risk depends on perceived ease of use: a more intuitive interface buffers the negative effect of risk on predicted reuse intention. These findings indicate that behavioral uncertainty in PRS is simultaneously perceptual, situational, and interactive. PRS design should therefore combine flexible time management, transparent real-time information, and low-friction user interfaces. Full article

Revisit intention is increasingly recognized as a key indicator of sustainable heritage tourism, as it reflects long-term visitor engagement rather than one-time consumption. However, limited attention has been paid to how tourism preferences shape perceived heritage quality and subsequently influence revisit intention, particularly in industrial heritage contexts undergoing urban regeneration. This study develops a structural model linking tourism preferences, perceived quality, and revisit intention, using Shanghai’s waterfront industrial heritage as an empirical case. Based on 335 valid questionnaires, structural equation modeling (SEM) is employed to examine the relationships among environmental preference, cultural and social sustainability preferences, situational perception, and behavioral intention. The results indicate that preference for a sustainable public space environment significantly enhances both physical and atmospheric perception, which in turn positively affects revisit intention. In contrast, social sustainability shows limited influence, suggesting that visitors’ behavioral responses are more strongly driven by environmental quality and experiential engagement in regenerated industrial heritage settings. This study contributes to sustainable heritage tourism research by integrating preference-based perception mechanisms into revisit intention analysis. It also provides practical implications for enhancing long-term attractiveness through experience-oriented adaptive reuse strategies. Full article

The widespread disposal of waste has led to severe environmental challenges, making the reuse of materials critical for sustainable development. Recycled products, which transform waste into valuable items, are gaining increasing attention from consumers. This research examines how perceived resource scarcity shapes consumer preferences for recycled products and the psychological mechanisms underlying this effect. Across four studies, we induced perceptions of scarcity using two distinct approaches and found that consumers experiencing resource scarcity exhibit higher purchase intentions for recycled products compared with those who do not. This effect is mediated by holistic thinking, which allows consumers to integrate information about a product’s past and present identities, enhancing appreciation for transformation and reuse. Moreover, perceived product contamination moderates this relationship. When contamination concerns are low, scarcity strengthens preference for recycled products, whereas high contamination perceptions weaken or eliminate this effect. These findings extend understanding of how resource scarcity influences sustainable consumption, highlight the cognitive processes driving recycled product demand, and provide practical guidance for policymakers and businesses promoting environmentally responsible consumption. Prolonged standing and repetitive lifting are routine occupational stressors that elevate plantar pressures across workers. In those with diabetes, these demands represent additional risk factors for diabetic foot pathology, highlighting the need for ergonomic interventions beyond standard safety footwear. This study evaluated the perceived ergonomic performance of the MoonWalking® insole, a novel adaptive pneumatic system designed for real-time pressure stabilization and offloading when integrated into safety footwear. A comparative experimental protocol tested two conditions: safety footwear with the manufacturer’s original insole and the same footwear with the MoonWalking prototype. Twenty participants assessed perceived comfort using a VAS and binary ergonomic questionnaires. The results showed statistically significant improvements in perceived cushioning, foot fit, and overall comfort when using the MoonWalking insole. Participants consistently identified pressure-stabilizing and offloading functions across all plantar regions, indicating that adaptive pressure control was clearly perceptible. No pain or movement restrictions were reported. Although perceived fatigue did not reach statistical significance, a decreasing trend was observed. A slight reduction in intention to reuse the footwear occurred with the prototype, possibly due to its increased weight. These findings provide evidence that integrating an adaptive pneumatic insole into safety footwear may improve plantar pressure redistribution and user comfort. Full article

In the environment in which competition in the aviation industry is intensifying and services are becoming increasingly homogeneous, a deep understanding of the key factors influencing passenger loyalty is beneficial for airlines to adopt more differentiated policies, thereby enabling long-term development. Exploring these dynamics within the framework of social and economic sustainability in the aviation sector, this study conducted a questionnaire survey of 375 Air China passengers. The collected data were analyzed using SEM (structural equation modeling) to investigate the relationships among service experience, corporate social responsibility (CSR), brand love, customer satisfaction, and reuse intention. The empirical results show that service experience has a significant and positive impact on both brand love and customer satisfaction. Also, CSR is key to boosting passengers’ emotional attachment and overall satisfaction. The findings also show that passengers with higher brand love and satisfaction are more likely to reuse the airline’s services. The results highlight how integrating CSR and service experience into an emotional–cognitive path serves as a strategic roadmap for securing a sustainable competitive advantage in a homogeneous market. Based on these insights, the research proposes practical managerial implications to help Air China develop sustainably and stay competitive in the long run. Full article

This study examines the design and pedagogical evaluation of Extended Reality (XR) applications, with a primary focus on location-based Augmented Reality (AR). The XR applications were implemented within an environmental education program delivered by the Education Center for the Environment and Sustainability (E.S.E.C.) of Kastoria, aiming to enhance students’ understanding of lake ecosystems and environmental awareness through immersive, situated learning experiences. The development followed the ADDIE instructional design framework and was grounded in principles of experiential and situated learning. The educational intervention was conducted in an authentic field setting along the shoreline of Lake Kastoria and combined location-based AR activities with complementary immersive VR experiences. Evaluation data were collected through a structured questionnaire administered to 271 primary and secondary school students, employing XR-relevant constructs including Challenge/Satisfaction/Enjoyment, Ease of Use, Usefulness/Knowledge, Experiential and Situated Learning, Interaction/Collaboration, and Intention to Reuse. In addition, accompanying teachers provided supplementary qualitative feedback to support the interpretation of the findings under authentic field conditions. Descriptive statistical analysis indicated consistently high scores across all constructs (M = 3.27–4.40, SD = 0.41–0.64). Pearson correlation analysis revealed strong associations between Experiential/Situated Learning and Usefulness/Knowledge (r = 0.737), Experiential/Situated Learning and Challenge/Satisfaction/Enjoyment (r = 0.642), Intention to Reuse and Challenge/Satisfaction/Enjoyment (r = 0.635), as well as Usefulness/Knowledge and Challenge/Satisfaction/Enjoyment (r = 0.619). Multiple regression analyses further supported key relationships, including Usefulness/Knowledge as a predictor of Experiential/Situated Learning (β = 0.57, p < 0.001), Experiential/Situated Learning as a predictor of Challenge/Satisfaction/Enjoyment (β = 0.47, p < 0.001), and Interaction/Collaboration as a predictor of Intention to Reuse (β = 0.31, p < 0.001). Intention to reuse was mainly associated with interaction and collaboration, enjoyment and motivation, perceived usefulness/knowledge, and ease of use. Overall, the findings indicate that XR-supported outdoor learning is positively associated with key experiential, emotional, social, and perceived learning dimensions when embedded within a coherent pedagogical framework. Student attrition remains a persistent challenge in higher education and is shaped by interacting socioeconomic, academic, institutional, and wellbeing-related mechanisms. Although learning analytics and educational data mining increasingly support early-warning and intervention workflows, dataset reuse is often limited by incomplete documentation and inconsistent variable definitions. This Data Descriptor presents a structured cross-sectional survey dataset on factors influencing student persistence at a Colombian public university campus (La Paz). Data were collected between August and December 2025 through an online questionnaire and subsequently cleaned to remove duplicate entries and personally identifiable information. The released dataset contains 333 student records and 33 variables covering demographics (e.g., age, gender, first-generation status), socioeconomic conditions (e.g., residential stratum, housing, financial aid), academic experience and satisfaction (multiple 1–5 Likert items), perceived dropout intention across personal/socioeconomic/academic domains, thematically coded open-ended items describing challenges and motives, and a self-allocation of 0–100 weights across three dropout-factor domains. We provide a machine-readable codebook, a transparent preprocessing description, and technical validation checks (value ranges, category consistency, and composite-score integrity). The dataset is intended to support reproducible retention research, equity-oriented analyses, and benchmarking of predictive models, while encouraging responsible reuse through privacy-preserving release practices and FAIR-aligned metadata, repository deposition, and versioning. Heavy-duty forklifts possess substantial kinetic energy during braking, which is currently wasted due to a lack of recovery in conventional systems. To ensure braking safety, an electro-hydraulic–mechanical compound braking system is necessary. However, the uncoordinated distribution between regenerative and mechanical braking torque leads to braking torque fluctuations, compromising safety, comfort, and recovery efficiency. This paper constructs a parallel hydraulic hybrid power system for heavy-duty forklifts based on a four-quadrant pump/motor, enabling braking energy recovery and reuse via the pump/motor and an accumulator. A compound braking strategy based on the ideal braking force distribution and multi-sensor information fusion is proposed. The system incorporates various sensors, including pressure, speed, flow, and pedal displacement sensors, to monitor system status and driver intention in real time, providing precise data for coordinated control. Feasibility is verified through AMESim simulation and real vehicle tests. The control system based on sensor feedback maximizes braking energy recovery while ensuring braking safety and comfort, achieving a 12.2% energy-saving rate and significantly improving the vehicle’s economy and range. Circular economy (CE) claims in fashion aim to mobilize consumer participation in reuse and recycling, yet the interpretative flexibility of “circular” language can also enable vague messaging and skepticism. This study investigates how consumers assess CE fashion claims in terms of (a) claim substantiation quality (CSQ) and (b) claim support credibility (CSC), and how these assessments influence perceived green authenticity (PGA), green trust (GTR), and circular purchase intention (CPI) in Greece and the United Kingdom. A cross-national online stimulus-based survey utilizing standardized e-commerce product-card claims for a fictitious circular fashion brand gathered data from Greece (n = 640) and the UK (n = 572). PLS-SEM and multi-group analysis evaluated a model distinguishing CSQ and CSC as complementary message properties. In the overall sample, both CSQ and CSC exhibited a positive correlation with CPI, whereas PGA and GTR emerged as the most significant proximal predictors, with authenticity demonstrating the most substantial impact. Indirect-effect tests showed that CSQ affected CPI through both authenticity and trust. On the other hand, CSC was only effective through authenticity, and there was no clear pathway for CSC trust intention. The multi-group results also showed context sensitivity: Greece exhibited a stronger trust-based path to intention, while the UK had a stronger authenticity-based path to intention. Overall, the results support a dual-route theory of CE claim persuasion. Additionally, they suggest that effective CE fashion communication should combine clear, specific content with credible, externally checkable support cues. Full article

This study investigates how digital representation practices shape spatial meaning-making, aesthetic coherence, and narrative construction in interior design education. Responding to a notable gap in the literature regarding the limited examination of student-produced visuals as visual–cultural artifacts, the research analyzes how emerging designers employ digital tools to construct spatial identity and atmosphere. The dataset consists of 816 images produced by 34 fifth semester interior design students within a design studio project focused on the adaptive reuse of a standardized school building. The study adopts a hybrid methodological framework that combines Gillian Rose’s multi-sited visual analysis with Braun and Clarke’s reflexive thematic analysis, alongside a semiotic interpretation informed by Kress and van Leeuwen, Barthes, and Manovich. The analysis reveals three recurring themes across the projects: a fluid spatial identity articulated through guided circulation and rhythmic compositional strategies; digital nature abstractions developed through software-mediated organic metaphors; and institutional comfort atmospheres characterized by symmetry, tonal neutrality, and controlled relationships between material and light. Overall, the findings demonstrate that digital visualization tools function not only as technical means of representation but also as mediating environments that interact with students’ design intentions, visual culture exposure, and pedagogical frameworks, shaping spatial thinking and aesthetic coherence. In this respect, the study provides critical and timely insights into the evolving pedagogical structure of digital interior design education. Full article

This study examines consumer attitudes and experiences related to ride-sharing services in the Western Transdanubia region of Hungary. Despite the growing global popularity of shared mobility solutions, there is little empirical evidence on regional consumer acceptance patterns in the Hungarian context. Based on a structured questionnaire survey involving 500 respondents, this research explores the relationship between satisfaction with past ride-sharing experiences and the intention to reuse such services in the future. The results reveal a high willingness to reuse among those who have already tried ridesharing, yet the correlation analysis shows that satisfaction dimensions alone are not significant predictors of reuse intention. In contrast, attitudinal factors, such as preference over other transport modes, willingness to make recommendations, and perceived accessibility, exhibit strong correlations with acceptance of ride-sharing. The findings emphasise the key role of attitudes and trust in shaping consumer decisions. The paper contributes to the literature by providing regionally grounded empirical insights and offers practical and policy-level recommendations to support the diffusion of sustainable shared mobility services.
