Insulin resistance (IR) represents one of the most pressing problems in contemporary public health. Its estimated global prevalence ranges from approximately 15.5% to over 61%, depending on the population studied, the diagnostic criteria applied, and the method used for its assessment. Despite the scale of the problem, IR remains underrecognized and lacks formal definition as a distinct disease entity, even as a growing number of clinicians and researchers worldwide describe it as such. Its asymptomatic or mildly symptomatic course allows it to remain undetected for years, during which it makes a significant contribution to the development of type 2 diabetes, cardiovascular disease (CVD) and metabolic dysfunction-associated steatotic liver disease (MASLD, formerly NAFLD), and has been increasingly linked to cellular senescence, certain cancers, neuropsychiatric disorders, and other metabolic conditions. The aim of this review was to summarize current knowledge on the pathophysiology, diagnosis, and clinical implications of insulin resistance, to discuss current challenges in its diagnosis, and to evaluate whether available scientific evidence supports its recognition as a distinct disease entity. This narrative review is based on clinical, epidemiological, and mechanistic data retrieved from PubMed and Google Scholar. Meta-analyses, systematic reviews, clinical and observational studies, clinical guidelines, and expert position statements were analyzed. Animal studies were excluded to maintain a focus on human public health implications. The diagnostic gold standard—the hyperinsulinemic-euglycemic clamp—was discussed, along with surrogate methods used in clinical practice (HOMA-IR, OGTT with insulin measurements, the TyG index, and the TG/HDL-C ratio). Factors potentially contributing to the pathogenesis of IR were examined, including hyperinsulinemia (HI), high-carbohydrate diets, inflammation, stress, and sleep disturbances, as well as conditions in which IR occurs physiologically. The findings indicate that current evidence supports the need for a clearer clinical and diagnostic framework for insulin resistance and suggest that its recognition as a distinct disease entity could facilitate earlier diagnosis, improve the standardization of clinical management, and enable earlier metabolic intervention. Given the steadily rising prevalence of metabolic disease, systemic efforts directed at the early identification and treatment of IR may be a key component of strategies aimed at reducing the population-level burden of metabolic disease and its negative consequences. Urban planetary health requires urban design decisions to consider human and ecological consequences together, yet relevant evidence is often generated through different constructs, methods and scales. This concept paper develops the Urban Planetary Health Experience–Ecology Framework (UPHEx-Eco) through a targeted critical synthesis supported by structured literature identification. UPHEx-Eco is organised around the human–ecological design relation: an analytically bounded relationship between a specified and potentially modifiable urban design intervention, condition or alternative and at least one human response and one ecological health response within a common decision context. The framework requires explicit spatial and temporal boundaries, a reference condition, appropriate indicators, reporting of evidential support, testing status and uncertainty, and translation into design, maintenance or monitoring implications. Cross-domain response direction is classified as synergy, trade-off, joint detriment, one-domain effect, no meaningful change or unresolved; perceptual–ecological mismatch is assessed separately when human judgement concerns an independently assessable ecological property. A conceptual worked application concerning night-time lighting in a biodiverse urban park demonstrates the analytical sequence without constituting empirical testing or validation. UPHEx-Eco is, therefore, proposed as a traceable analytical structure rather than a validated predictive or optimisation model; its reliability, transferability and comparative utility remain to be tested. Synthetic nitrogen fertilizer underpins global cereal production, yet a substantial share of applied nitrogen escapes to the atmosphere as nitrous oxide, ammonia, and nitrogen oxides, with significant consequences for climate, air quality, ecosystems, and soil health. Despite extensive research on nitrogen losses and mitigation options, no synthesis has traced the historical intensification of cereal nitrogen use, current emission patterns, and the technological and policy responses to these losses as a single connected trajectory. This review provides that integrated synthesis. This review adopts a gloom-to-glory framing to trace nitrogen fertilizer use in cereal systems from its Green Revolution origins through current emission trends to the technological and policy responses now being deployed, treating these as a single continuous narrative rather than separate bodies of literature. Global nitrogen application in maize, wheat, and rice rose roughly tenfold between 1961 and 2010, and more than half of applied nitrogen across this period was never recovered in harvested grain. This unrecovered fraction partitions across mechanistically distinct loss pathways, i.e., nitrous oxide from soil nitrification and denitrification, ammonia from urea hydrolysis and volatilization, and indirect losses from residual soil nitrate, each carrying separate climate, air quality, and ecosystem consequences. Enhanced-efficiency fertilizers, precision nitrogen management, renewable hydrogen-based ammonia synthesis, and biologically mediated approaches such as nitrification inhibition each demonstrate mitigation potential without compromising yield, though field-scale evidence for the biological route remains limited. Regional case studies from China, India, and the European Union show that national policy has altered nitrogen use trajectories without closing the gap to demonstrated best-practice potential, for reasons specific to each jurisdiction’s regulatory design, price structure, and institutional capacity. The review concludes that the principal barriers to realising cereal production’s glory pathway are no longer primarily mechanistic but lie in measurement coverage, technology transfer to smallholder and developing-region producers, and the economic architecture needed to scale proven mitigation measures across cereal-growing regions. Water pollution and its ecological consequences have become central concerns in watershed governance and aquatic ecosystem conservation. Conventional ecotoxicological research on water pollution has long relied on physicochemical monitoring, laboratory-based single-species exposure tests, and morphology-based biological surveys. Although these approaches have provided essential support for pollutant identification, toxicity characterization, and environmental standard setting, they remain insufficient for resolving community-level responses, food-web perturbations, and ecosystem degradation under multiple-stressor conditions. Environmental DNA (eDNA) has emerged as a promising molecular tool because it is non-invasive, highly sensitive, high-throughput, and capable of detecting multiple taxa simultaneously. In aquatic systems, eDNA applications have expanded from biodiversity detection to pollution diagnosis, ecological health assessment, restoration monitoring, and early warning of ecological risk, while increasingly being integrated with eRNA, multi-omics approaches, machine learning, hydrological modeling, and ecological network analysis. However, several challenges still constrain its broader application, including incomplete methodological standardization, false-positive and false-negative detections, insufficient reference databases, limited quantitative capacity, scale mismatches caused by transport and mixing, and difficulties in causal attribution. This review synthesizes recent progress in the use of eDNA for water-pollution research, with emphasis on its technical workflow, major application domains, integrative analytical frameworks, and methodological boundaries. More specifically, three main points are highlighted: (1) eDNA is shifting water-pollution research from single-species toxicity characterization toward community- and ecosystem-level ecological interpretation; (2) its greatest value lies in its integrative role at the interface of biodiversity monitoring, ecological risk assessment, and management-oriented decision support; and (3) future progress will depend on improvements in standardization, quantitative inference, regional reference databases, and multi-source data integration. Overall, this review clarifies how eDNA can contribute to more robust, ecologically meaningful, and management-relevant assessment of water pollution. Full article

Background: Personalized nutrition, also referred to as precision nutrition, is an emerging approach that integrates genetic, metabolic, phenotypic, behavioral, and environmental characteristics to develop individualized dietary strategies. Obesity, metabolic syndrome (MetS), and metabolic dysfunction-associated steatotic liver disease (MASLD) represent interconnected disorders with substantial inter-individual variability in disease development, metabolic risk, and response to dietary interventions. Although body mass index (BMI) remains widely used for obesity classification, it does not adequately capture differences in body composition, fat distribution, or metabolic health. Consequently, individuals with normal-weight obesity (NWO), characterized by excessive body fat accumulation despite a normal BMI, may remain unidentified despite increased cardiometabolic risk.This narrative review critically evaluates the current evidence on the potential role of personalized nutrition in the prevention and management of obesity, MetS, MASLD, and related cardiometabolic abnormalities. Particular attention is given to five major domains: nutrigenetics, gut microbiota, metabolic phenotyping, body composition assessment, and digital health technologies, with emphasis on their current clinical applicability and limitations. Methods: A structured narrative review was performed using PubMed, Scopus, and Web of Science to identify English-language studies (2003–2026) on personalized nutrition in obesity, normal-weight obesity, metabolic syndrome, and MASLD. Eligible studies were selected according to predefined inclusion and exclusion criteria, and 31 publications were included in the qualitative synthesis. Results: Current evidence suggests that personalized nutrition strategies may contribute to improvements in body weight regulation, insulin sensitivity, lipid metabolism, and liver-related outcomes; however, the magnitude and consistency of these effects remain variable. The integration of genetic, metabolic, microbiome, and phenotypic information may improve individual risk stratification and help identify high-risk groups, including individuals with NWO who may not be recognized through BMI-based assessment alone. Emerging approaches involving multi-omics technologies, microbiome profiling, wearable devices, continuous glucose monitoring, and artificial intelligence-based tools provide promising opportunities for individualized dietary interventions. Nevertheless, limitations related to methodological heterogeneity, insufficient standardization, limited external validation, and the scarcity of long-term pragmatic clinical trials currently restrict their routine implementation. Conclusions: Personalized nutrition represents a promising but still evolving approach for addressing obesity and its metabolic complications, including MetS and MASLD. While the integration of biological, phenotypic, and digital information may support more targeted dietary recommendations, current evidence does not yet fully establish the clinical effectiveness and cost-effectiveness of these approaches in routine care. Future large-scale, longitudinal, and well-designed randomized controlled trials are required to determine which personalized nutrition strategies provide clinically meaningful benefits and for which patient populations. The United States has one of the world’s largest criminal justice systems, with nearly 5.5 million people under correctional supervision and almost 2 million incarcerated. This scale of confinement, coupled with the rise of privatization across correctional and related services, reflects a broader neoliberal trend in public governance. This paper explores the consequences of privatization and marketization of the U.S. criminal justice system—particularly the proliferation of private prisons and immigrant detention centers—and draws parallels to the consequences of privatization of health and social care, especially long-term care (LTC). Both systems reveal shared logics of marketization that prioritize profit maximization, efficiency, and cost-cutting at the expense of care, justice, and equity. Relying on interdisciplinary perspectives from public health and criminology, this paper situates private corrections within the health policy framework of the Commercial Determinants of Health (CDoH), arguing that privatized carceral institutions not only harm incarcerated individuals but also endanger workers, families, and surrounding communities through systemic under-resourcing, precarious labor conditions, and structural violence. By comparing the private, for-profit prison industry with private for-profit LTC systems, we illustrate how these structures have commodified both care and correctional systems. These findings suggest that privatization within carceral and care sectors perpetuates health inequities and reinforces cycles of racial, gendered, and economic disadvantage. Accordingly, this paper calls for strengthening publicly held models and a reassertion of public accountability and interdisciplinary collaboration to restore social justice, health, and human dignity as central organizing principles of both systems for residents, workers, their families, and communities. Research has examined the negative consequences of internalized weight bias on mental health (e.g., disordered eating, depression, anxiety). In South Korea’s patriarchal society, appearance rather than ability or talent is considered the principal determinant of a woman’s success, as evidenced by high rates of cosmetic surgery and anti-fat bias. Given strict appearance norms and pervasive weight stigma, we developed a Korean version of the Modified Weight Bias Internalization Scale (K-WBIS), examined its psychometric properties, and explored its associations with other established measures. Confirmatory factor analysis was used to assess the factor structure. An item was removed, and a revised 10-item one-factor model was estimated. The final model demonstrated an acceptable incremental model fit indices (CFI = 0.934, TLI = 0.909, SRMR = 0.047), although RMSEA remained elevated (RMSEA = 0.163). The 10-item K-WBIS demonstrated promising psychometric properties in a sample of South Korean adult women. Findings provide preliminary support for the K-WBIS and warrant further evaluation in larger and more diverse Korean-speaking populations. Full article

Traditional monitoring frameworks heavily rely on static, total heavy metal concentrations and deterministic indices, failing to capture how climate-driven stressors and micro-interface interactions alter the stability, speciation, and bioavailability of toxic metals. This review synthesizes the state-of-the-art literature at the intersection of hydrology, geochemistry, microbial ecology, and toxicology to address this gap. We investigate how shifting redox (Eh-pH) gradients and climate-forced hydrological extremes—ranging from drought-induced sediment acidification to flood-driven shear stress—accelerate the reductive dissolution of iron/manganese oxyhydroxides. This process consequently triggers seasonal pulses of bioavailable metals. Furthermore, we evaluate how aged microplastics act as dynamic vector interfaces, altering competitive adsorption kinetics and biological uptake. Crucially, we highlight the heavy metal-microbiome-antibiotic resistance axis, demonstrating how sublethal metal exposure drives the co-selection and proliferation of antibiotic resistance genes (ARGs) via mobile genetic elements, revealing an indirect public health hazard. Finally, we critique deterministic assessments and advocate for probabilistic modeling via Monte Carlo simulations to capture exposure heterogeneity. By bridging macro-scale forcing with microscopic chemical and biological transformations, this review provides a comprehensive synthesis for shifting regulatory frameworks toward dynamic, bioavailability-based ecological governance. Background/Objectives: Head and neck cancer (HNC) is associated with substantial morbidity, functional impairment, and represents a substantial socioeconomic burden worldwide. Although advances in surgery, radiotherapy (RT), and systemic therapies have improved oncologic outcomes, treatment-related toxicities frequently overlap with profound economic consequences for patients and caregivers. Financial toxicity (FT), defined as the objective financial burden and subjective financial distress associated with cancer care, has emerged as a clinically relevant determinant of treatment adherence, quality of life (QoL), and survival. In HNC, FT appears particularly critical during active treatment, when multimodal therapies, nutritional compromise, work interruption, transportation costs, and supportive care needs converge. Methods: This structured narrative review synthesizes current literature regarding FT during active treatment for HNC, focusing on conceptual definitions, measurement approaches, temporal dynamics, clinical and psychosocial consequences, and health system determinants. The review was conducted according to the Scale for the Assessment of Narrative Review Articles (SANRA) framework using searches of PubMed/MEDLINE, Scopus, Embase, and Google Scholar. Results: Available evidence suggests that FT may emerge early during treatment and evolve dynamically throughout the care trajectory. Lower socioeconomic status, treatment intensity, work interruption, and limited social support have been reported in association with increased FT. FT has also been linked to worse health-related QoL, higher symptom burden, treatment interruptions, hospitalization, and reduced survival, although the limited number of studies and methodological heterogeneity preclude definitive conclusions. Emerging evidence suggests that FT may be partially modifiable through interventions such as financial counseling and patient navigation. Conclusions: Future research should prioritize prospective and interventional designs using standardized multidimensional instruments capable of capturing both objective and subjective domains of FT. Integrating routine FT assessment into supportive oncology workflows may help identify vulnerable patients and support more equitable, patient-centered HNC care. Full article

Anthropogenic noise represents a significant form of environmental pollution, with consequences for both human health and ecosystem functioning. The aim of this study was to critically assess the adequacy of current environmental standards in light of the scale and nature of anthropogenic noise impacts on human health and ecosystem functioning, with particular emphasis on forested and protected areas. The methodology included a review of the scientific literature, an analysis of legal and institutional documents from the European Union and Poland, and a comparison with selected international approaches, in particular the practices of U.S. national parks, where the soundscape is regarded as an environmental resource requiring active protection. The review findings indicate that, in humans, exposure to noise is associated with, among other effects, an increased risk of cardiovascular disease, sleep disturbances, impaired cognitive functioning, and reduced psychological well-being, with nighttime noise being of particular significance. At the same time, numerous field and experimental studies demonstrate that, in many taxa, behavioral and physiological responses occur at levels lower than the thresholds applied to protect human health; ecologically significant effects have been reported at levels as low as approximately 40 dB, particularly in species dependent on acoustic communication. The analysis of existing regulations reveals the absence of operational standards and criteria for protected areas understood as natural habitats, which hinders the effective management of the acoustic climate. The proposed values of 40 dB for the nighttime period and 50 dB for the daytime period should be treated as indicative precautionary thresholds resulting from a qualitative synthesis of the literature and requiring empirical validation across different habitat types and geographical contexts. Their implementation may support the achievement of sustainable development objectives by simultaneously protecting human health, preserving biodiversity, and strengthening ecosystem resilience to anthropogenic pressures. Background/Objectives: Depression and burnout are common among medical students, leading to serious academic and professional consequences. LGBTQ+ students are especially vulnerable to mental health issues. This study aims to help understand the associations between sexual orientation and distress levels among Portuguese medical students. Methods: An observational, analytical, cross-sectional study was conducted with participants from Portuguese medical schools. Data collection took place between 2022 and 2025 through electronic questionnaires. Assessment tools included the Multidimensional Scale of Perceived Social Support, the Beck Depression Inventory, the State-Trait Anxiety Inventory, and the Maslach Burnout Inventory Student Survey. Statistical significance was set at p < 0.05 (95% confidence interval). Group comparisons by sexual orientation were conducted using chi-square/Fisher’s exact tests, Mann–Whitney U tests, and independent samples t-tests. Predictors of depression and state anxiety were assessed using multiple linear regression. Results: The sample included 1668 (83.2%) heterosexual students and 336 (16.8%) LGBTQ+ students. The rates of depression and anxiety were 43.2% and 25.7%, respectively. LGBTQ+ students reported more difficulties in personal, academic, social, and financial areas and showed higher levels of distress than heterosexual students. Key factors linked to distress included burnout, social support, and grade satisfaction. Additionally, burnout, low-grade satisfaction, and substance abuse were associated with anxiety and depression levels differently depending on sexual orientation. Conclusions: This study’s findings confirm higher distress levels among the LGBTQ+ group compared to the heterosexual group, helping us identify students who are more vulnerable to developing mental illness and prompting us to reconsider which aspects of medical training and culture contribute to this distress. Forecasting fine particulate matter with a diameter of 2.5 μm (PM2.5) is critically important due to its adverse effects on human health and environmental sustainability. Although ground-based monitoring stations provide accurate measurements, their limited spatial coverage restricts large-scale PM2.5 assessment, especially in complex urban regions. Consequently, aerosol optical depth (AOD) derived from satellite imagery, combined with advanced deep learning (DL) techniques, has emerged as an effective alternative by offering wide spatial coverage and rich spatio-temporal information. This paper proposed an optimization-driven fuzzy transformer–deep belief network (ODFT-DBN) for accurate PM2.5 air pollution prediction. The proposed framework integrates a fuzzy inference module to model uncertainty and nonlinear environmental relationships, a transformer encoder to capture long-range spatio-temporal dependencies, and a DBN to extract hierarchical features and improve prediction robustness. In addition, a novel multi-objective gray wolf optimizer (NMOGWO) is employed to jointly optimize the model hyper-parameters and fuzzy membership functions. The proposed approach is implemented for the city of Tehran, Iran, using meteorological variables, topographical features, ground-based PM2.5 measurements, and satellite-derived AOD data. The ODFT-DBN model is compared with several benchmark methods, including bidirectional encoder representations from transformers (BERT), transformer, long short-term memory (LSTM), gated recurrent unit (GRU), convolutional neural network (CNN), DBN, and extreme gradient boosting (XGBoost). Experimental results demonstrate that the proposed framework achieves superior predictive performance, attaining an R2 value of 0.94 and root mean square error (RMSE) of 0.8 μg/m3. Scatter plot analyses indicate a strong agreement between predicted and observed PM2.5 values, while the proposed model exhibits low variance, stable convergence behavior, and acceptable computational time. Overall, the results confirm the effectiveness, robustness, and practical applicability of the proposed ODFT-DBN framework for spatio-temporal PM2.5 forecasting. Full article

Background: Post-stroke spasticity is a frequent and disabling consequence of stroke, including when affecting the lower limbs, where it may impair stance, gait, balance, postural control, functional independence and quality of life. Botulinum toxin type A (BoNT-A) is widely used as a focal neuromodulatory treatment for post-stroke spasticity. However, the relationship between BoNT-A-induced reduction in muscle hypertonia, objective changes in spastic muscle’s biomechanical properties, and functional outcomes such as mobility and balance remains insufficiently clarified. This systematic review aimed to synthesize recent evidence regarding the non-invasive assessment of spastic muscle properties following BoNT-A administration in post-stroke patients, with emphasis on mobility and balance outcomes. Methods: A systematic literature review was conducted according to the Preferred Reporting Items for Systematic Reviews and Meta-Analyses (PRISMA) guidelines. The search was performed in international electronic databases and included studies published between 1 January 2023 and 31 December 2025. The search strategy used specific keywords and keyword combinations/syntaxes, contextually, related to the topic of interest. Results: A total of 32 studies met the eligibility criteria and were included in the final data analysis and synthesis, comprising 13 primary clinical studies—6 randomized or controlled interventional studies and 7 observational studies—together with 12 reviews or evidence syntheses, 3 technical or clinical framework papers, and 4 survey, epidemiological, health-services or health-economic studies. Overall, the included articles addressed BoNT-A treatment in post-stroke spasticity, with partial focus on muscle properties, gait, mobility, and functional outcomes. However, only a limited number of studies investigated objective non-invasive assessment methods, and few directly related muscle-property changes in balance and mobility outcomes. Formal risk-of-bias assessment and quantitative synthesis were not performed because of the substantial heterogeneity of the included evidence, with only two studies being potentially suitable for pooling and these addressing different muscle groups, interventions, and outcome domains. Discussion and Conclusions: The reviewed literature confirms the clinical relevance of BoNT-A in the management of post-stroke spasticity. However, most studies assess treatment effects mainly through clinical scales, while objective evaluation of muscle stiffness, elasticity, viscoelastic properties, and their relationship with mobility and balance remains limited. Although some studies address gait, functional recovery, or muscle-related changes, the combined use of BoNT-A treatment, myotonometric assessment, and proprioceptive–stabilometric evaluation is largely absent. Therefore, current evidence highlights an important research gap and supports the need for future longitudinal studies integrating non-invasive biomechanical and balance assessment tools to better monitor treatment response and guide individualized neurorehabilitation in post-stroke patients. Background and Objectives: The World Health Organisation (WHO) promotes respectful, woman-centred care during childbirth, aimed at preserving women’s autonomy, their sense of control and the fulfilment of their expectations. Loss of control during childbirth has been linked to a poorer birth experience and adverse emotional consequences in the postpartum period. To analyse the maternal and perinatal factors associated with perceived control and support during childbirth, and their relationship with childbirth satisfaction in women in Spain. Materials and Methods: A cross-sectional study was conducted with postpartum women who had given birth within the previous six months in Spain. Validated instruments were used, including the “Support and Control in Birth” (SCIB) scale and the “Birth Satisfaction Scale-Revised” (BSS-R). Sociodemographic, obstetric and neonatal variables were also collected. Associations were assessed using multiple linear regression models. Results: A total of 302 postpartum women participated, with a mean age of 35.2 years (SD = 4.18), of whom 70.2% (n = 212) were primiparous. Satisfaction with childbirth (BSS-R) was the strongest positive association with all dimensions of the SCIB: internal control (adjusted mean difference [aMD] = 0.56; 95% CI: 0.48, 0.64), external control (aMD = 0.75; 95% CI: 0.61, 0.89), support (aMD = 0.89; 95% CI: 0.77, 1.01) and overall score (aMD = 2.34; 95% CI: 2.13, 2.56). Greater pain intensity was associated with a lower perception of internal control (aMD = −1.00; 95% CI: −1.31, −0.70). In comparison with adherence to the birth plan, non-adherence showed a negative association with the support dimension (aMD = −7.71; 95% CI: −10.72, −4.71) and with the overall SCIB score (aMD = −10.21; 95% CI: −16.01, −4.42). Women’s active participation in decision-making was positively associated with perceived control and support (aMD = 7.15; 95% CI: 2.21, 12.09). Conclusion: A greater perception of support and control during labour is associated with a more positive birth experience. Deviation from the birth plan and greater pain intensity are associated with a poorer perception of control, whilst women’s active participation was associated with higher perceived control. These findings underscore the importance of personalised and respectful care to improve women’s childbirth experience, particularly perceived support, control and satisfaction. Full article

Background and Aim: While the proliferation of digital health technologies and wearable devices provides nursing professionals with constant access to biometric data, the pathological reliance on these metrics represents an emerging, yet empirically unexamined, digital anxiety framework. This study aims to theoretically define and systematically analyze this theorized phenomenon—termed “Technohypochondria”—within the context of nursing management and clinical practice. Methods: Utilizing Walker and Avant’s eight-stage concept analysis method, a systematic literature search was conducted across PubMed, CINAHL, Scopus, and Web of Science databases. Following strict inclusion and exclusion criteria, a total of 1240 data sources spanning nursing, management, psychology, and informatics literature were analyzed. Results: Three defining attributes of Technohypochondria emerged inductively from the literature: (1) Biometric data obsession, (2) Digital misinterpretation and catastrophizing, and (3) Need for algorithmic feedback. Unlike the general informational search patterns of cyberchondria, these attributes specifically capture a continuous, device-driven feedback loop. Ownership of wearable technology and inadequate digital health literacy were identified as primary antecedents. The analysis revealed significant managerial consequences, including loss of clinical focus, increased risk of medical errors, and weakened professional autonomy. Conclusions: Technohypochondria operationalizes a specific anxiety framework driven by constant biometric monitoring, conceptually diverging from cyberchondria’s focus on online health-information seeking. For nursing managers, addressing the psychological relationship between staff and technology is a strategic necessity for patient safety and workforce productivity. A primary limitation of this study is its theoretical nature; however, this study provides the essential conceptual foundation awaiting future empirical validation and scale development. Full article
