The accurate forecasting of financial flow data in power-grid operations is critical for improving operational efficiency. To tackle the challenges of low forecasting accuracy and high error rates caused by the long sequences, nonlinearity, and multi-scale and non-stationary characteristics of financial flow data, a forecasting model based on multi-verse expansion evolution (MVE2) and spatial–temporal fusion network (STFN) is proposed. Firstly, preprocess data for power-grid financial flow data based on the autoregressive integrated moving average (ARIMA) model. Secondly, establish a financial flow data forecasting framework using MVE2-STFN. Then, a feature extraction model is developed by integrating convolutional neural networks (CNN) for spatial feature extraction and bidirectional long short-term memory networks (BiLSTM) for temporal feature extraction. Next, a hybrid fine-tuning method based on MVE2 is proposed, exploiting its global optimization capability and fast convergence speed to optimize the STFN parameters. Finally, the experimental results demonstrate that our approach significantly reduces forecasting errors. It reduces RMSE by 5.75% and 13.37%, MAPE by 22.28% and 41.76%, and increases R2 by 1.25% and 6.04% compared to CNN-BiLSTM and BiLSTM models, respectively. These results confirm the model’s effectiveness in improving both accuracy and efficiency in financial flow data forecasting for power grids. Full article

With the growing global demand for clean energy, new energy vehicles are a key focus in the automotive industry. This paper investigates the micro-grooved pumping seal used in such vehicles, using a custom Python computational programme to study the start-up behaviour of a non-contact oil–gas two-phase micro-grooved seal. The research explores the balance of forces during start-up, employing fractal theory for surface contact force calculations and solving the two-phase laminar Reynolds equation by the finite difference method. The results show that high-speed micro-grooved seals perform well under typical conditions for new energy vehicles. When film thickness is below a critical value, fractal dimension and characteristic length influence the initial thickness. Above the critical value, film thickness increases non-linearly with rotational speed, whereas the leakage rate decreases linearly. Critical rotational speed decreases non-linearly with the oil–gas ratio, peaking at an oil–gas ratio of 0.06. Both critical speed and leakage rate increase linearly and non-linearly with pressure and temperature, respectively. The study highlights the boundary-line where leakage transitions to pumping, providing valuable guidance for optimising seal design in new energy vehicles. Full article

This study developed mycelial biochar composites, BQH-AN and BQH-MV, with stable physicochemical properties and significantly improved adsorption capabilities through microbial modification. The results showed that the specific surface area and porosity of BQH-AN (3547.47 m2 g−1 and 2.37 cm3 g−1) and BQH-MV (3205.59 m2 g−1 and 2.46 cm3 g−1) were significantly higher than those of biochar BQH (2641.31 m2 g−1 and 1.81 cm3 g−1), which was produced without microbial treatment. In adsorption experiments using rhodamine B (RhB), tetracycline hydrochloride (TC), and Cr (VI), BQH-AN showed maximum adsorption capacities of 1450.79 mg g−1 for RhB, 1608.43 mg g−1 for TC, and 744.15 mg g−1 for Cr(VI). BQH-MV showed similarly strong performance, with 1329.85 mg g−1 for RhB, 1526.46 mg g−1 for TC, and 752.27 mg g−1 for Cr(VI). These values were not only higher than those of BQH but also outperformed most other biochar adsorbents. Additionally, after five reuse cycles, the pollutant removal efficiency of the mycelial biochar composites remained above 69%, demonstrating excellent regenerative ability. This study not only produced biochar with superior adsorption properties but also highlighted microbial modification as an effective way to enhance lignocellulosic biochar performance, paving the way for further biomass development. Straw, a predominant agricultural residue, represents a significant waste product. Harnessing its potential is of paramount importance both in terms of research and economic value. In this study, chemically pretreated corn straw was infused with distinct microbial fungal mycelium variants and subsequently transformed into a series of biochars through a process involving carbonization and activation. The findings revealed enhancements in the specific surface area and total pore volume of mycelium-doped straw biochars compared to the original corn straw biochar (BCS). Additionally, discernible disparities were observed in their physical and chemical attributes, encompassing functional groups, surface chemistry, and micro-morphology. Notably, in water-based antibiotic removal experiments focusing on tetracycline hydrochloride (TH) and chloramphenicol (CP), the mycelium-doped straw biochars outperformed BCS. Their maximum adsorption capacities for TH and CP surpassed those of alternative adsorbents, including other biochars. Impressively, even after five cycles, the biochar exhibited a removal rate exceeding 80%, attesting to its robust stability. This study successfully emphasized the efficacy of incorporating fungal mycelium to enhance the adsorption properties of straw-based biochar, introducing a new theoretical basis for the development of lignocellulosic materials. In this work, a new model to analyse the dynamic characteristic coefficient of the S-CO2 dry gas seal was reported. Taking into account that the flow within the S-CO2 dry gas seal is close to adiabatic flow, the impact of the temperature change on the dynamic characteristic coefficient of the gas film cannot be ignored. To address this issue, a complete variable perturbation model (CVPM) under the adiabatic flow process was established using the frequency perturbation method while considering multiple complex effects. Then, the finite difference method was used to solve the CVPM. The gas film’s dynamic stiffness and damping coefficients were calculated and analysed for different conditions, operating parameters, and frequency ratios. From our analysis, it was demonstrated that the dynamic coefficient of the gas film exhibited frequency dependence. The turbulence coefficient perturbation had the most remarkable influence on the gas film’s dynamic coefficient, compared to the temperature, viscosity, and centrifugal inertia force perturbations. The isothermal flow, adiabatic flow, inlet pressure, and inlet temperature also affected the magnitude of the dynamic characteristic coefficient of the gas film. However, no significant impact on their tendency to vary with the frequency ratio was found. Our work provides new theoretical support for the dynamic analysis of S-CO2 dry gas seals, which is of great importance for future applications. Full article

Traditional oil seals are insufficient for the high-speed and bi-directional rotation of new energy electric vehicles. Therefore, we developed a Python program focusing on micro-groove pump seals and examined the unexplored non-contact oil–air biphasic internal end-face seals. Real gas effects were described using the virial and Lucas equations. We introduced an oil–air ratio to determine the equivalent density and viscosity of the two-phase fluid in the seal. Furthermore, we solved the compressible steady-state Reynolds equation using the finite difference method. Analysing the seal’s pumping mechanisms and the effects of operating parameters on sealing performance, we assessed 17 types of hydrodynamic grooves. The results demonstrate that inverse fir tree-like grooves perform well under typical sealing conditions. Under the conditions given in this study, the pumping rate of the optimal groove type compared to other groove types even reached 633.54%. In the oil–air biphasic state, the micro-groove pump seal exerts significant dynamic pressure on the sealing surface. Seal opening force increases with rotational velocity, oil–air ratio, and inlet pressure but decreases with temperature. The pumping rate first increases and then decreases with rotational velocity, increases with oil–air ratio and temperature, and then decreases with inlet pressure. Some special working points require consideration in sealing design. Our results provide insights into designing micro-grooved pumping seals for new energy electric vehicles. Full article

Rapid economic growth and urbanization have significantly changed the land use distribution and landscape ecological structure, which has a profound impact on the natural environment. A scientific grasp of the characteristics of land use distribution and its impact on landscape ecological risk is a prerequisite for sustainable urban development. This study aimed to calibrate GlobalLand30 data using the normalized difference impervious surface index (NDISI) obtained from Landsat images, thereby providing a more precise foundation for land simulation. Additionally, it sought to improve the accuracy of the patch-generating land use simulation (PLUS) through parameter sensitivity analysis. Building upon this, the research also simulates future land use in Beijing. Lastly, this study introduced an LER index to assess ecological risk in the current and future urban landscapes. The results showed that the GlobalLand30 data were calibrated and PLUS model accuracy was improved to more than 86%. The accuracy of the modified PLUS model based on a Morris sensitivity analysis was increased, and the kappa coefficients were increased by approximately 3%. The results of the multi-scenario simulation showed that under the SSP126-EP scenario, future land use in Beijing could balance urban development and ecological protection, and thus would be more suitable for sustainable development. In the other two scenarios, ecological land will be encroached by urban development. From 2000 to 2020, the degree of LER was generally lower, moderate, or higher, and the overall level of LER showed a downward trend continuing until 2100 in the SSP126-EG scenario. Future land use simulations and LER assessment under multi-scenarios could help decision makers develop multi-scale landscape protection strategies. Full article

This article presents a novel approach for evaluating laser scribing quality through cross-section profiles generated from a three-dimensional optical profiler. Existing methods for assessing scribing quality only consider the width and depth of a scribe profile. The proposed method uses a cubic spline model for cross-section profiles. Two quality characteristics are proposed to assess scribing accuracy and consistency. Accuracy is measured by the ratio of the actual laser-scribed area to the target area (RA), which reflects the deviation from the desired profile. The mean square error (MSE) is a measure of how close each scribed cross-section under the same scribing conditions is to the fitted cubic spline model. Over 1370 cross-section profiles were generated under 171 scribing conditions. Two response surface polynomial models for RA and MSE were built with 18 scribing conditions with acceptable scribing depth and RA values. Both RA and MSE were considered simultaneously via contour plots. A scatter plot of RA and MSE was then used for Pareto optimization. It was found that the cross-sectional profile of a laser scribe could be accurately represented by a cubic spline model. A multivariate nonlinear regression model for RA and MSE identified pulse energy and repetition rate as the two dominant laser parameters. A Pareto optimization analysis further established a Pareto front, where the best compromised solution could be found. Full article

The development of thin-film photovoltaics has emerged as a promising solution to the global energy crisis within the field of solar cell technology. However, transitioning from laboratory scale to large-area solar cells requires precise and high-quality scribes to achieve the required voltage and reduce ohmic losses. Laser scribing has shown great potential in preserving efficiency by minimizing the drop in geometrical fill factor, resistive losses, and shunt formation. However, due to the laser induced photothermal effects, various defects can initiate and impact the quality of scribed grooves and weaken the module’s efficiency. In this regard, much research has been conducted to analyze the geometrical fill factor, surface integrity, and electrical performance of the laser scribes to reach higher power conversion efficiencies. This comprehensive review of laser scribing of photovoltaic solar thin films pivots on scribe quality and analyzes the critical factors and challenges affecting the efficiency and reliability of the scribing process. This review also covers the latest developments in using laser systems, parameters, and techniques for patterning various types of solar thin films to identify the optimized laser ablation condition. Furthermore, potential research directions for future investigations at improving the quality and performance of thin film laser scribing are suggested. Full article

Background: The association between loop diuretics and acute kidney injury (AKI) remains unclear. Methods: The population studied was selected from the Epidemiology of AKI in Chinese Hospitalized patients (EACH) study. Exposure to loop diuretics was defined as any filled prescription prior to the date when AKI was detected in patients with HA-AKI, and prior to the last date of SCr testing in those without AKI. The outcome was AKI, defined by the Kidney Disease Improving Global Outcomes criteria. Associations between loop diuretics and HA-AKI were examined by Cox proportional hazards models adjusted for baseline and time-dependent covariates. Results: Of the 150,020 patients, 16,437 (11.0%) were prescribed loop diuretics, and 5717 (3.8%) experienced HA-AKI events. The crude rates of HA-AKI in patients who were and were not prescribed loop diuretics were 1632 (9.9%) and 3262 (2.8%), respectively. A multivariate cox proportional hazards analysis showed that exposure to loop diuretics was associated with significantly increased risks of HA-AKI compared with non-users (hazard ratio (HR), 1.61; 95% CI (confidence interval), 1.55–1.67), other diuretics (HR, 1.09; 95% CI, 1.03–1.15), and osmotic diuretics (HR, 1.30; 95% CI, 1.20–1.42). Compared with other diuretics, the use of loop diuretics was associated with higher risks of HA-AKI in women, in patients without hypertension, in patients without heart failure, in patients without liver cirrhosis, and in patients not requiring surgery. Conclusions: Loop diuretics are widely used and are associated with increased risks of HA-AKI in hospitalized adults. Renal function should be more closely monitored during the use of loop diuretics.
