Special Issue Information

Dear Colleagues,

I am pleased to introduce this Special Issue within the journal Water, focusing on the use of recycled water for food production. In most developing countries, agriculture is a major consumer, accounting for approximately 70% of total freshwater consumption. Due to the high reliance of agriculture on freshwater, most governments are concerned about ensuring a reliable water supply for agricultural purposes. The changing climate is further exacerbating this concern. Recycled water could be a potentially reliable source for agriculture as it is available year-round. The primary objectives of this Special Issue are to collect and publish original contributions covering research on the impacts of using recycled water for food production and appropriate treatment technologies to produce recycled water suitable for its intended purpose. In the face of climate change, it is an appropriate time for the publication of such focused research. Once published, this collection will be an invaluable resource for policymakers and practitioners alike.
