22–23 October 2018, Alcalá de Henares, Madrid, Spain
5th Annual Meeting of the Spanish Network of Bacteriophages and Transducer Elements (FAGOMA)

Bacteriophage research has played a key role in the development of molecular biology and genetic engineering. Moreover, phages are an essential part of natural ecosystems by modulating bacterial populations. Last but not least, phage therapy is currently regarded as an interest alternative to the use of more traditional antimicrobials amidst the current antibiotic resistance crisis.

FAGOMA was created in 2011 with the aim of bringing together teams involved in studying all aspects of phage biology and applications. Since that time, our annual meeting has been the perfect setting for promoting collaborative work between delegates, while also providing a valuable opportunity to discuss the latest results and methodologies.

We are pleased to announce the upcoming 5th Annual Meeting of the Spanish Network of Bacteriophages and Transducer Elements (FAGOMA), which will be held 22-23 October 2018 in Alcalá de Henares, Madrid (Spain).

This year our keynote speakers will be:

  • Prof. Pascale Boulanger, Head of the Team Bacteriophage T5, Institute for Integrative Biology of the Cell, Univ. Paris-Sud, Orsay Cedex, France.
  • Prof. Rosa Aznar, Director of the Spanish Type Culture Collection, University of Valencia, Spain.
