Special Issue Information

Dear Colleagues,

Sustainability encompasses more than just the balance between conservation and use. Today, it is important that forests, as partially renewable natural resources, are managed to meet society’s economic, recreational, and ecological needs. Sustainable forest services—including bioeconomy, ecological management, and resource development—form the basis of balanced forest use, ensuring their long-term viability and ecosystem resilience. The scope of this topic includes the principles of sustainable forest use, their role in the modern bioeconomy, and the importance of recreational functions and ecological management methods. The aim is to analyze how sustainable forest management can reconcile economic activity, environmental objectives, and social well-being. It also allows us to assess how the current scientific literature discusses the value of forest ecosystems, the development of recreational services, green economy trends, and climate-resilient resource management models. The connection to other studies is clear: many scientific works emphasize the need for sustainable practices in the context of climate change, examine the impact of recreational areas on public health and well-being, and analyze the potential of the bioeconomy to increase added value without using excess natural resources. This study extends the discussion by integrating ecological management principles with recreational and economic goals.
