Solar Thermal and Solar Chemical Conversion

A section of Solar (ISSN 2673-9941).

Section Information

This section focuses on the science, technology, and engineering of solar thermal conversion and utilization (covering the complete chain from collection and storage to end-use applications), and the science and technology of using solar energy (light, heat) to drive chemical reactions for the synthesis of energy carriers, production of value-added chemicals, or environmental remediation.

The section covers, but is not limited to, the following thematic areas:

  1. Solar thermal materials, coatings, and collector technologies;
  2. Solar heating, cooling, and industrial process heat;
  3. Concentrating Solar Power (CSP);
  4. Thermal energy storage and heat management systems;
  5. Photocatalysis and photoelectrochemistry (e.g., water splitting for H2, CO2 reduction);
  6. Solar thermochemical cycles and fuel synthesis;
  7. Artificial photosynthesis;
  8. Solar-driven environmental remediation technologies (e.g., advanced oxidation processes);
  9. Related catalysts, reactors, and system design.
