Social Stratification and Inequality

A section of Social Sciences (ISSN 2076-0760).

Section Information

The Social Stratification and Inequality section publishes theoretically informed and empirically rigorous research on the distribution of resources, opportunities, and life chances within and across societies. For publication in this section, we welcome research on economic inequality, wealth and income, social mobility, education, occupations and labour markets, family, housing, health, race and ethnicity, gender, migration, and other dimensions of social differentiation. We particularly welcome research that advances understanding of the institutions and processes through which advantage and disadvantage are created, maintained, and transformed over time. This section is open to research detailing diverse theoretical perspectives and methodological approaches and encourages comparative and international scholarship, as well as research that brings new data, methods, or perspectives to the discussion of longstanding questions about stratification and inequality.
