Artificial Intelligence for People with Disabilities

Special Issue Information

Dear Colleagues,

We would like to invite you to submit your research article or a comprehensive review for consideration and publication in the Special Issue “Artificial Intelligence for People with Disabilities“ published by Societies (ISSN 2075-4698).

Since Alan Turing first posed the question of whether machines can think in 1950, the artificial intelligence (AI) landscape has evolved significantly. Without a doubt, AI is transforming societies and economies. It holds huge promise in addressing global health crises and improving well-being. This Special Issue will cover state-of-the-art research in artificial intelligence focused on people with disabilities, especially on long-term neurological conditions, with the main aim to expand our knowledge of the social realm.

Topics may include, but are not limited to, the following:

  • Oversight of AI applications
  • AI in cognitive and motor impairments of long-term neurological conditions
  • Complex interplay between technology, rehabilitation and societies
  • Intersection of inclusion and privacy of people with disabilities in artificial intelligence

Contributions have to follow one of the three categories of papers (article, conceptual paper or review) of the journal and address the topic of the Special Issue.

All manuscripts are thoroughly refereed through a double-blind peer-review process. A guide for authors and other relevant information for submission of manuscripts is available on the Instructions for Authors page. Societies is an international peer-reviewed open access monthly journal published by MDPI.

Please visit the Instructions for Authors page before submitting a manuscript. The Article Processing Charge (APC) for publication in this open access journal is 1400 CHF (Swiss Francs). Submitted papers should be well formatted and use good English. Authors may use MDPI's English editing service prior to publication or during author revisions.
