Young Investigator Award

Dear Colleagues,

We are pleased to announce that the winner of the 2019 Sensors Young Investigator Award is Dr. Gaston A. Crespo.

Dr. Gaston A. Crespo is an Associate Professor of the Department of Chemistry in CBH, KTH, Sweden. Crespo’s research interests are in electroanalytical chemistry, membrane transport, new materials, development of electrochemical techniques, electrochemiluminescence and optical sensors for environmental and biomedical applications (POC and wearable sensors), photo-triggered devices, and synchrotron characterization Dr. Crespo received his Ph.D. degree in 2010 and has an outstanding publication record, comprising 88 publications in peer-reviewed international journals and 2 international patents. Gaston’s Scopus Scientific Citations is 2,034 and his Hirsch index is 25., and he is clearly a rising star in the field of electrochemical sensors. As a single applicant, Dr. Crespo has secured funding of more than 2 million EUR since 2017. This is an outstanding achievement in today’s competitive environment. Please join us in congratulating Dr. Crespo for his outstanding achievements.

As the awardee, Dr. Crespo will receive an honorarium of 2000 CHF, an offer to publish a paper free of charge without a fixed deadline in Sensors, and an engraved plaque.
