Young Investigator Award

Dear Colleagues,

We are pleased to announce that the winner of the 2018 Sensors Young Investigator Award is Dr. Wei Gao.

Dr. Wei Gao is an Assistant Professor of Medical Engineering in Division of Engineering and Applied Science at California Institute of Technology, USA. His work focuses on developing wearable biosensors and micro/nanomachines for medical applications. Dr. Gao received his Ph.D. degree in 2014 and has published over 70 high-quality research papers in leading international journals with over 5000 citations. Due to Dr. Gao’s significant contributions in wearable sweat biosensors, he was chosen as one of MIT Technology Review Top 35 Innovators Under 35 (TR35) in 2016. Please join us in congratulating Dr. Gao for his outstanding achievements.

As the awardee, Dr. Gao will receive an honorarium of 2000 CHF, an offer to publish a paper free of charge without a fixed deadline in Sensors, and an engraved plaque.

We would like to thank all the applicants in various fields of study for their participation and all the Award Committee members for their evaluation of the abundant excellent applications.
