Each awardee will receive 800 Swiss Francs towards participation at their chosen international conference:

  • Dr. Iqra Safder plans to present his work entitled “DLFS: Deep Learning-based Full-text Scholarly Search System” at the IEEE International Conference on Data Mining (ICDM) to be held from November 17–20, 2018 in Singapore.
  • Dr. Yi Bu will present his work entitled “Finding balance in global relationships: roles of collaboration, mobility, and specialization in building ties across countries” at the Society for Social Studies of Science (4S) Annual Meeting (2018) to be held from August 29–September 1, 2018, in Sydney, Australia.

It was a difficult decision for the Evaluation Committee with such high quality applications for the awards, and we would like to thank all applicants for submitting a diverse and fascinating range of research topics. We congratulate the winners for their accomplishments.
