Medical and Veterinary Microbiology
A section of Microbiology Research (ISSN 2036-7481).
Section Information
Microbes are key agents in human and animal health, shaping interactions that range from commensal to pathogenic. Diseases shared across species highlight that the boundaries between medical and veterinary microbiology are fluid. This section embraces the One Health perspective, promoting an integrated understanding of infectious diseases, diagnostics, vaccines, and host–pathogen interactions. Submissions addressing bacteriology, virology, mycology, and emerging zoonoses, as well as studies that improve laboratory diagnostics or advance our knowledge of preventive and therapeutic tools, are within scope. Contributions that bridge clinical medicine, veterinary science, and public health will help define comprehensive approaches to combating infectious threats.
