Special Issue Information

Dear Colleagues,

Currently, obesity is an epidemic, posing clinical challenges for practitioners in every specialty. Worldwide, metabolic and bariatric surgery has proven to be an effective treatment, leading to longstanding weight loss and the resolution of comorbidities. However, for plastic and aesthetic surgeons, this poses specific challenges in terms of post-operative excess skin, as well as specific aesthetic surgical challenges. Post-bariatric body contouring surgery can help patients who struggle with excess skin after weight loss. Moreover, cosmetically and psychologically, there are many changes after metabolic and bariatric surgery. Therefore, this Special Issue will showcase papers (including all study designs) to capture clinical, psychological, and surgical challenges in plastic and aesthetic surgery after metabolic and bariatric Surgery.
