Special Issue Information
Dear Colleagues,
The Special Issue ‘Engineering a Secure Tomorrow: Advancements in Cybersecurity’ aims to explore cutting-edge research and innovative solutions designed to address the rapidly evolving Cybersecurity landscape, with a particular emphasis on Industrial Internet of Things (IIoT) and Cyber–Physical Systems (CPSs). As modern infrastructures increasingly rely on interconnected devices, cloud platforms, and data-driven intelligence, traditional security mechanisms are no longer sufficient to counter sophisticated and large-scale cyber threats. This Special Issue highlights the critical role of data-driven approaches in enhancing the security, reliability, and resilience of complex systems operating in dynamic and heterogeneous environments. Contributions to this issue focus on the integration of advanced technologies such as artificial intelligence, deep learning, and generative models for proactive threat detection, anomaly prediction, and adaptive defense mechanisms. Particular attention is given to leveraging multi-source data, including IoT sensor data, network topology information, and cloud-based intelligence, to design robust and context-aware security frameworks. Furthermore, the issue emphasizes the importance of Explainable AI (XAI) to ensure transparency, trust, and accountability in automated Cybersecurity solutions. By addressing challenges related to scalability, data heterogeneity, and real-time decision-making, this Special Issue seeks to advance the development of intelligent, autonomous, and resilient Cybersecurity architectures. The outcomes are expected to significantly contribute to securing critical infrastructures across various sectors, including manufacturing, healthcare, agriculture, and transportation, ultimately paving the way toward a safer and more secure digital future.

Manuscript Submission Information
Manuscripts should be submitted online at www.mdpi.com by registering and logging in to this website. Once you are registered, click here to go to the submission form. Manuscripts can be submitted until the deadline. All submissions that pass pre-check are peer-reviewed. Accepted papers will be published continuously in the journal (as soon as accepted) and will be listed together on the special issue website. Research articles, review articles as well as short communications are invited. For planned papers, a title and short abstract (about 250 words) can be sent to the Editorial Office for assessment.
Submitted manuscripts should not have been published previously, nor be under consideration for publication elsewhere (except conference proceedings papers). All manuscripts are thoroughly refereed through a single-blind peer-review process. A guide for authors and other relevant information for submission of manuscripts is available on the Instructions for Authors page. Inventions is an international peer-reviewed open access semimonthly journal published by MDPI.
Please visit the Instructions for Authors page before submitting a manuscript. The Article Processing Charge (APC) for publication in this open access journal is 1800 CHF (Swiss Francs). Submitted papers should be well formatted and use good English. Authors may use MDPI's English editing service prior to publication or during author revisions.
