Special Issue Information
Dear Colleagues,
Many aspects of our lives are undergoing tremendous digital transformation. Underpinning this transformation are new developments and innovations in multiple fields, such as computing sciences, social sciences, and health sciences. Digital technologies have the potential to transform healthcare in ways we have not thought of yet. However, many challenges must be overcome before the benefits can be fully realized. For example, the importance of sharing digital health data across different levels of care, institutions, and countries is becoming increasingly clear, yet safe and trustworthy sharing remains a challenge.
A serious consideration of the convergence of digital technologies and healthcare promises a greater understanding of the role technology advancements can play in solving important challenges in healthcare. This Special Issue of the International Journal of Environmental Research and Public Health (IJERPH) turns the spotlight on the important knowledge gaps, challenges, and opportunities and also highlights novel applications and evaluations of digital technologies in the healthcare domain.
Contributions to this call can include original research and reviews related to the following topics (or other topics closely related to biomedical informatics):
- Sustainable and green digital solutions in healthcare;
- Health data spaces for both primary and secondary use of health data;
