Special Issue Information

Dear Colleagues,

A Topical Collection on Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD) in Vulnerable Populations, in the International Journal of Environmental Research and Public Health, is being organized. For detailed information on the journal, I refer you to https://www.mdpi.com/journal/ijerph

According to the World Health Organization, most people are unavoidably exposed to traumatic experiences (TEs) at some point during their lifetime, and this exposure has been shown to negatively affect mental health. Post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD) is an especially problematic disorder that is directly related to trauma (Liu, 2017).

Researchers and clinical workers in this field have also been looking at advances in PTSD, including diagnosis, course, treatment and comorbidity. The consensus is that PTSD is particularly likely to develop in some vulnerable populations, such as refugees, migrant children, veteran, and individuals suffering from child abuse. Therefore, PTSD among vulnerable populations should be given more attention when developing policies and improve intervention programs.

This Topical Collection is open to the subject area of PTSD in Vulnerable Populations. The keywords listed below provide an outline of some of the possible areas of interest.
