Special Issue Information

Dear Colleagues,

Influenza continues to be associated with high morbidity and mortality rates worldwide, representing a major burden on public health systems. Indeed, annual epidemic outbreaks have a major impact on health systems, with elderly populations experiencing the highest rates of severe forms. Although vaccination represents the main preventive measure, immunization rates are still insufficient, and their efficacies depend on seasonal clades and vaccine immunogenicity. The main therapeutic options are also limited, although novel anti-inflammatory strategies are currently under study.

The aim of this Special Issue is to share key advances in elucidating the epidemiology and clinical aspects of human influenza virus infection, as well as progress in vaccination and therapeutic options. Original research articles, brief reports, reviews, and case reports are welcome. Essays, opinions, and perspectives will also be accepted.
