The journal Section on Infectious Disease Epidemiology, Prevention and Control covers all aspects related to the surveillance, investigation, and control of communicable diseases, with a strong emphasis on practical public health and hygiene interventions. It encompasses any research or review on the transmission dynamics, risk factors, and burden of infectious diseases, with implications for public health policy and practice.

This Section puts special emphasis on the analysis of outbreak detection and response, antimicrobial resistance, emerging and re-emerging pathogens, and the evaluation of prevention and control interventions from a multidisciplinary and One Health perspective.
