Join Us at the MDPI Author Training Workshop at University of Central Lancashire, 18 July 2023, Preston, Lancashire, England
MDPI will be organising an Author Training Workshop at the University of Central Lancashire on 18 July 2023.
The aim of this workshop is for PGR students, ECRs and MCRs of GRACE, University of Central Lancashire, and North West Universities to get together and exchange experiences in the publishing world. MDPI has invited three experienced speakers from the MDPI UK Manchester Office to provide a guide on how to write and publish your manuscript to a journal.

Speakers:
Dr. John Peter Wainwright | Dr. Wainwright is the Director of the Global Race Centre for Equality (GRACE), a transdisciplinary research centrer that is led by Black and Asian academics that focus on co-produced research in anti-racism/ race equality with minoritized ethnic communities, industry, the private, statutory and voluntary sector. His research expertise is co-production in race, (anti)-racism, youth justice, children and young people in the care system, adoption and fostering. | |
Mr. Rhys Pumphrey | Mr. Pumphrey obtained his MEng in materials science and engineering from the University of Manchester in 2021. He joined MDPI as an Assistant Editor for the journal Materials (ISSN: 1996-1944) the same year. In September 2022, he became a Section Managing Editor, and he is currently the Journal Relations Specialist for Materials. | |
Dr. Anya Osborn | Dr. Osborn obtained her Ph.D. in auditory neuroscience from Keele University in 2019. She joined MDPI as an Assistant Editor for the journal Cancers (ISSN: 2072-6694) in 2020. Currently, she is working towards becoming a Section Managing Editor and Journal Relations Specialist for Cancers. | |
Ms. Isabel Nelson | Ms. Nelson obtained her M.Sc. in environmental monitoring, modelling and reconstruction from the University of Manchester in 2020. With an interest in environmental and public health, she joined MDPI as an Assistant Editor for the journal Healthcare (ISSN: 2227-9032) in 2021. Since October 2022, she has been working towards becoming a Section Managing Editor, whilst acting as the Journal Relations Specialist for Healthcare. |
