Dear Colleagues,
This Special Issue focuses on advanced methods and models for fire risk assessment and safety management for modern energy infrastructures. Energy infrastructure forms the backbone of modern society and includes systems such as oil and gas facilities, chemical process systems, hydrogen systems, battery energy storage systems, and other emerging energy applications. Fire and explosion accidents in these systems can result in significant human, environmental, and economic consequences. As energy systems become increasingly interconnected and digitalized, ensuring fire safety presents new scientific and engineering challenges.
The growing complexity of energy systems requires more advanced methods and models capable of addressing dynamic operating conditions, evolving hazards, multi-hazard interactions, deep uncertainties, and cascading consequences. Recent developments in artificial intelligence, real-time monitoring, probabilistic risk assessment, sensor technologies, high-fidelity simulation and data analytics offer new opportunities to improve the prediction, prevention, mitigation, and emergency response of fire accidents.
This Special Issue aims to bring together researchers and practitioners from academia, industry, and government to share recent advances in fire risk assessment, intelligent safety management, and decision-support technologies for both conventional and emerging energy systems. Contributions addressing theoretical developments, experimental investigations, computational modeling, field applications, and industrial case studies are welcome.

Manuscripts should be submitted online at www.mdpi.com by registering and logging in to this website. Once you are registered, click here to go to the submission form. Manuscripts can be submitted until the deadline. All submissions that pass pre-check are peer-reviewed. Accepted papers will be published continuously in the journal (as soon as accepted) and will be listed together on the special issue website. Research articles, review articles as well as short communications are invited. For planned papers, a title and short abstract (about 250 words) can be sent to the Editorial Office for assessment.
Submitted manuscripts should not have been published previously, nor be under consideration for publication elsewhere (except conference proceedings papers). All manuscripts are thoroughly refereed through a single-anonymized peer-review process. Fire is an international peer-reviewed open access monthly journal published by MDPI.
