Special Issue Information

Dear Colleagues,

Socio-economic dynamics has long been studied by economists, sociologists, politicians, and historians. A great deal of theories have been developed to explain societal changes and substantiate non-linear phenomena in socio-economic systems. These include the theory of cycles, the catastrophe theory, the theory of evolution, the institutional theory, the synergetic theory, the civilizational approach, etc. Unlike neoclassical economics premised on general economic equilibrium, such theories form the basis for social development models used for predictive analytics and the elaboration of system management tools. Transformation is a rather complex category. Despite its role in socio-economic dynamics, this category is often specified as an ambiguous process that entails major risks in sustainable development. System changes can be foreseen under certain conditions, but unpredictable factors often lead to sudden changes at different levels of economic organization. A scientific approach should be applied to solving such issues. We invite you to publish original results of survey and empirical research on socio-economic dynamics in this Special Issue, whose scope ranges from changes in structural elements to profound societal transformation.
