Special Issue Information

Dear Colleagues,

Early care experiences and attachment relationships have the potential for long standing effects on developmental outcomes, including mental wellbeing, interpersonal functioning and academic/ vocational outcomes. Mindfulness and self-compassion are increasingly recognised as important in the development and intergenerational transmission of attachment. This special issue aims to advance the scientific literature in understanding the influence of mindfulness and self-compassion in attachment security and family relationships. Specific focus will be on parent-child relationships and co-parenting. We welcome theoretical and/ or empirical contributions that contribute knowledge regarding mindfulness and self-compassion in attachment as well as potential pathways influencing cross-generational transmission.
