Special Issue Information

Dear Colleagues,

Interviews and interrogations are of the utmost importance in a range of areas. From police investigations through to job applications and media, more research is required to improve interview and interrogation processes. Interviews are complex, dynamic processes, often with competing interests—the will of the interviewee to be believed and appraised positively, and the will of the interrogator to find the truth and perhaps detect deception. Research has provided a number of behavioral and linguistic approaches to understand interviews and interrogations: interpersonal dynamics, question style, nonverbal behavior, through to deception detection and forensic linguistics. The current Special Issue welcomes entries from authors in the field who are keen to help to develop our understanding of interview and interrogation analysis, processes, and procedures. Authors from a range of backgrounds including (forensic) psychology, psycholinguistics, criminology, sociology, and cognitive neuroscience and cognate disciplines are warmly welcomed to submit articles to create this important, applied Special Issue that will assist practitioners in their interview and interrogation strategies and understanding.
