Airborne Allergens: Detection, Modeling, and Forecasting
This special issue belongs to the section “Air Quality“.
Special Issue Information
Dear Colleagues,
We are pleased to present this Special Issue, titled “Airborne Allergens: Detection, Modeling, and Forecasting”, a topic of growing importance due to the increasing prevalence of allergic diseases and the evolving impacts of environmental factors on airborne allergens. Allergic diseases, including asthma and hay fever, are major public health concerns, affecting millions of individuals worldwide. The presence of airborne allergens—such as pollen, mold spores, and dust mites—has been shown to exacerbate these conditions, with significant consequences for quality of life and healthcare systems. This Special Issue aims to address the current challenges in understanding, detecting, and predicting airborne allergens and their potential impacts on human health. As the global climate undergoes rapid changes, there is a pressing need to improve our capacity to detect allergens, model their behavior in the atmosphere, and forecast their presence in ways that are timely and accurate.
