Round 1

Reviewer 1 Report

This paper reports important work and outcomes are as important and thoroughly described.  I would suggest that the description of the testing procedures (section 3.2) would include a short paragraph that would explain more about why the strategy changed from the first to the second approach.   The reader would gain an understanding of the rationale and timing of this change.

A small format correction is also needed on page 9 line 312 where part of the text is hidden behind a blank spot.

Reply:  The authors thank the referee for the positiv feedback. We followed her/his suggeting to include another paragraph on the topic. See chapter 3.2 in the revised MS.

Further, we also ran the MS by a native speaker to check the language. Some corrections, marked in yellow have been introduced accordingly.

Reviewer 2 Report

The manuscript by Schneider et al. is well written and the results are interesting. In my opinion, it could be accepted. I only have one comment on editorial errors considering the use of abbreviations. Please use the full terms for RT-PCR and C-19 when you use them for the first time, particularly in the abstract.

Reply: We like to thank the referee for her/his positive feedback. In the revised MS these abbreviations are carefully introduced.

Further, we'd like to point out, that some text sections have be slightly rewritten to improve the clarity of the MS.

Thanks a lot
