Round 1

Reviewer 1 Report

the paper discusses some smart home applications on Arduino.

The content is something already seen, therefore the contribution of the paper is not clear.

The work should be extended by clearly indicating the contribution as well as adding a comparison with the state of the art. In such a related works section similarities and differences with existing approaches should be highlighted.

The manuscript is not suitable for publication in “automation” in its current form.  Authors have claimed of Development of Smart Home Applications. Many articles have clearly been available in the literature. Therefore, how we can justify the novelty of the proposed research work?  My suggestion for revisions are as follows;

1. Concerning English some minor changes must be made such as spelling check and sentence structure.

2. References are not enough. It is suggested to cite more relevant and recent literature articles. The author should cite more research articles rather than citing several videos and URLs of websites.

3. Paper is messed up with several figures of Experimental components. One or two figures of the experimental setup with proper labeling are more than enough.

4. Programming flowchart is a most appropriate method to show the data flow while writing a program or algorithm. The author may provide algorithm codes as supplementary material (during submission) for review purposes.

Round 2

Reviewer 1 Report

I m sorry, bus i cannot see the contribution and the advancement wrt the state of the art that is not analyzed in comparison to the proposed solution.

The authors have presented the idea of a smart home, which is very interesting. The paper is well structured. Here are my suggestions for revision;

(1) Paper is messed up with several figures which are not necessary. Figure 1 and figure 2 may be removed. A lot of literature is available related to the working principle of Arduino UNO and Bluetooth Module. I do not know why the author has explained Arduino UNO and Bluetooth module in detail on Page 3 and Page 4.

(2) Please label all components of the experimental setup in figure 14(b).
