Alkaloids of Solanum xanthocarpum Stem as Green Inhibitor for Mild Steel Corrosion in One Molar Sulphuric Acid Solution
Round 1
Reviewer 1 Report
It is a nice paper discussing the use of green inhibitors but the paper’s style and flow can be improved greatly. Inhibitors are used in closed systems and the paper could have explained the direct applications a little better than general corrosion effects and applications. I have an issue with the methodologies and experiments, especially the lack of experimental details and repeatability of the experiments with multiple samples.

Title
Alkaloids of Solanum xanthocarpum Stem as Green Inhibitor for Mild Steel Corrosion in One Molar Sulphuric Acid Solution
Commends and suggestions
1. The abstract must include more novel details about preparation and results.
2. For weight loss measurement, I suggest you, to take “TGA” measurement for all the samples and you may include that detail report in the manuscript.
3. Introduction line no. 34. You may include the various types of steel and try to write how mild steel became best.
4. Materials and methods, Line No: 138
Why are you using ‘#’ symbol for indicating SIC paper number. Please try to use standard format for SIC paper number.
5. Materials and methods, Line No: 142
How can you prepare the solution of 200, 400, 600, & 800 ppm. Give much more preparation history.
6. Line No: 287, From Figure 5, increase in inhibitor concentration enhancing the inhibition efficiency (IE) upto 800ppm. Suppose again increase in inhibitor concentration, then inhibition efficiency increase or decrease?, this regarding, please represent more information. What will be the optimum point. Figure 5,6 need to improve picture quality.
7. Line No: 424, From Table 4, inhibitor concentration increase Ea and ΔH value also increase, At 800ppm, why is it shows decreased value of Ea, ΔH?
8. Table 4, you also provide for detail explanation about sudden shifting the ΔS value from negative to positive.
9. Line No: 472, Table 5 represented increase in inhibitor concentration increase in inhibition efficiency (IE) upto 1000ppm. again if increase in inhibitor concentration, inhibition efficiency (IE) increase or decrease clearly justify
10. Line No: 514
Optical microscopic images not so clear, I suggest you, to take SEM image and give proper explanations.
11. Line No: 516
In Mechanism of Corrosion Inhibition, there is no graphical images. I suggest You to give graphical images.
12. Line No: 273 and 325
The Effect of immersion time and Effect of Temperature in both places, the weight loss study carried out only up to 800ppm. What about after 800 ppm?
13. Line No: 273, 325 and 453, Among the study for inhibition concentration are not uniform, why? Is there any specific reason? if yes, please give proper information.
14. I suggest you, to take impedance measurements study for all inhibition concentration. This is so important.

Author Response
Thank you reviewer for your critical suggestions, which helped to enhance the quality format and homogeneity of this paper. We have addressed all the raised comments.
Question 1. You should correct the border and columns width of table 1, 2 3 & 4 like table 5.
Our reply: Thank you very much for your suggestion. We have corrected in the revised manuscript as per your suggestion.
Question 2. In table 5, you must include the units of each quantity in header. ie, Acid medium (ppm) like that
Our reply: Thank you very much for your suggestion. We have corrected in the revised manuscript as per your suggestion.
Additional: We have added the units of each quantity in the header in figure 6 too.
