Round 1

Reviewer 1 Report

In this paper, the authors discussed numerically the dynamics of quantum Fisher information (QFI) and entanglement for three and four-level atomic system interacting with a coherent field in the presence of Kerr and Stark effects. It is shown that Stark shift and Kerr effects play a prominent role during the time evolution of the quantum system. I think this paper present some misleading concepts i.e.

1) in Equation 12 the linear term which is called Kerr-effect, is not correct

2) Using the concept of Stark shift leads to transform the three-level system to an effective two-level system. It is not correct to generalize the concept to the four-level case

3) Even if mathematically correct, what is the new observation ? where the effect of the Kerr-like has been considered in both three-level and four-level cases before, see, Quantum field entropy and entanglement of a three-level atom two-mode system with an arbitrary nonlinear medium, Abdel-aty, M.2003 Journal of Modern Optics 50(2), pp. 161-177

and other papers in the references list in this paper.

I think that this paper needs to be rewritten and reconsider the correct concepts of both Kerr and Start effects within the proper physical model configuration.

Reply to the Comments of the first Referee:

1) In Equation 12, the linear term which is called Kerr-effect, is not correct

Ans:

We have corrected the equation 12 as pointed out by the referee.

2) Using the concept of Stark shift leads to transform the three-level system to an effective two-level system. It is not correct to generalize the concept to the four-level case

Ans:

We have considered the three and four level atomic systems separately in the presence of stark shift term and have represented the ground state of three and four-level atomic system in the matrix form.

3) What is the new observation? where the effect of the Kerr-like medium has been considered in both three-level and four-level cases before, see, Quantum field entropy and entanglement of a three-level atom two-mode system with an arbitrary nonlinear medium, Abdel-aty, M.2003 Journal of Modern Optics 50(2), pp. 161-177 and other papers in the references list in this paper.

Ans:

We have modified the results and conclusion sections to improve the quality of the manuscript and added some relevant references as well in the list.

I think that this paper needs to be rewritten and reconsider the correct concepts of both Kerr and Start effects within the proper physical model configuration.

Ans:

We have substantially revised the manuscript and corrected the concepts of both Kerr and Stark effects with proper physical model and also added the related figures of the proposed model.

Reviewer 2 Report

The manuscript presents a numerical simulation of  quantum Fisher information (QFI) as a measure of entanglement for three and four-level atomic system interacting with a coherent field in the presence of Kerr (linear and non-linear medium) and Stark effects. The non-linear and linear Kerr medium and Stark effect are characterized by the corresponding parameters and the effects    on QFI and entanglement are shown.

There have been a lot of interest recently on the use of QFI to study the loss of quantum coherence on different systems and even on the  Jaynes–Cumming model used by the authors. This model represents the interaction between a two-level atom   and cavity field of a quantized single-mode under the rotating wave approximation.  However, the three and four-level atomic system interacting with a coherent field in the presence of  Kerr (linear and non-linear medium) and Stark effects has not been studied before, up to my knowledge.

Nevertheless, I think that the quality of presentation is low. It looks like a first draft to me. There are serious flaws in the Introduction:

- The sentence

"The importance of QE in a different process has led to the observation and investigation of larger dimensional quantum systems and showsWhen an important and significant role in quantum systems of many-particles."

is unintelligible.

- Some verbal tenses are wrong and therefore some things done before seem to be done in this work.

Section 2. Introduction to quantum Fisher information (QFI) begins with

"This section may be divided by subheadings. It should provide a concise and precise description of the experimental results, their interpretation as well as the experimental conclusions that can be drawn.

This section may be divided by subheadings.   It should provide a concise and precise description of the experimental results, their interpretation as well as the experimental conclusions that can be drawn."

which is also unintelligible.

In the same section, in the definition of QFI, there is a confusion between D and L.

These few examples show a sloppy presentation.

Another thing, and to enhance the Introduction, I want to suggest the authors that some example where the system studied in the manuscript may be found.

A word on the relationship between QFI and von Neumann entropy would also be helpful.

In summary, I cannot recommend the manuscript to be published due to the reasons given above. Anyhow I encourage the authors to rewrite the manuscript, and I will be glad to review a new and hopefully enhanced version because right now it is, in my opinion, a sloppy presentation of a nice work.

Ans:

We have modified the text accordingly and tried to correct all the verbal tenses, etc.

2) Fisher information (QFI) begins with "This section may be divided by subheadings. It should provide a concise and precise description of the experimental results, their interpretation as well as the experimental conclusions that can be drawn which is also unintelligible.

Ans:

We have divided the section 2 in subheadings as advised by the referee and tried to provide better interpretation of experimental results, numerical analysis and the conclusions.

3) In the same section, in the definition of QFI, there is confusion between D and L.

Ans:

We have replaced L by D to avoid the confusion and improved the presentation.

4) In order to enhance the Introduction, I want to suggest the authors that some example where the system studied in the manuscript may be found.

Ans:

We have modified the introduction section by adding some discussion on three- and four- level atomic system in the presence of Kerr medium.

5) A word on the relationship between QFI and von Neumann entropy would also be helpful.

Ans:

We have added discussion on the relationship between QFI and von Neumann entropy.

Reviewer 2 Report

The manuscript has been changed and the presentation is good. Anyhow, there are still a couple of typos. Thus, I recommend publication.
