Ralf Weiskirchen, RWTH University Hospital Aachen, Germany
Brahim Chaqour, University of Pennsylvania, USA

Cover Story: The 12th CCN Workshop highlighted presentations on intra- and extracellular signaling in various biological models and clinical settings. It advanced the understanding of CCN protein regulation and function but also included other new developments in protein and DNA biology, as well as signaling modeling. The workshop facilitated dynamic exchanges among researchers, fostering collaboration across diverse fields to address scientific and clinical challenges. The ARBIOCOM initiative, which models these interdisciplinary interactions, is expected to bring together researchers, societies, and organizations to develop innovative approaches to accelerate research in cell communication and signaling, ultimately advancing knowledge in basic science and progress in disease treatments as well as drug discovery.
