Descriptive CBCT Findings of Maxillary Sinus Mucosal Changes in Patients Undergoing Sinus Floor Elevation: A Retrospective Observational Study
Abstract

2. Materials and Methods
2.1. Study Design and Setting
2.2. Patient Selection
- Patients who had CBCT scans taken of unilateral or bilateral maxillary sinuses prior to SFE to aid dental implant treatment;
- Male and female patients;
- Patients aged over 18 years old;
- Patients who were partially dentate or edentulous.
- Low-resolution images, where pathologies or anatomy of the maxillary sinus could not be clearly identified, and
- those with imaging artefacts that impaired visualisation of the sinuses, such as those created by movement or metallic objects, e.g., fillings or crowns.
