Comments and Suggestions for Authors

This manuscript studied about Simulation and Parametric Evaluation of Pb (II) Adsorption in a Biomass-Packed Bed using Isothermal Freundlich-LDF and Langmuir II-LDF Models. In my review, I think there are some interest which can be considered for publishing in Processes after revision.

My specific comments are as follows:

  • Since this work studied in details about adsorption models such as Isothermal Freundlich-LDF and Langmuir II-LDF Models for Pb ion, thus, more and more relevant references with literature reviews should be provided in parts of introduction and methods.
  • Please clarify what is the novelty/originality of this work, comparing with previous studies. It look like only change to kind of metal ion.
  •  I think it is better author may perform on more simulation with other kinds of metals for more results and discussion.

Comments and Suggestions for Authors

Dear authors,

I have carefully reviewed your research article titled "Simulation and Parametric Evaluation of Pb (II) Adsorption in a Biomass-Packed Bed using Isothermal Freundlich-LDF and Langmuir II-LDF Models." While I acknowledge the scientific value of your study, I have identified several areas that require revision and improvement before considering it for publication. I kindly request that you address the following points:

Introduction

  1. I suggest including other techniques for the Pb removal from wastewater.
  2. The Langmuir and Freundlich isotherm models should be defined in this section.

Materials and Methods

  1. In this section, all the materials and chemicals used should be listed.
  2. The sentences: "Lead is a highly toxic heavy metal that poses a serious risk to human health and the environment. Its exposure can cause serious damage to the nervous system, kidneys and blood, and is especially harmful to children and pregnant women." and "In order to find ways to mitigate the impact caused by this pollutant, this study is presented, in which the simulation of Pb (II) adsorption processes in a packed column has been carried out using Aspen Adsorption" should be moved the Introduction section.
  3. For this study, did you use the natural wastewater or synthetic water? If synthetic water, how did you prepare it?

Results and Discussion

In table 4, I suggest comparing Pb (II) with Pb (II) not Cd (II).

Comments and Suggestions for Authors

This short article focuses on the study of the adsorption of lead by biomass.

The adsorption study is well done but no information has been given regarding desorption or biomass treatment after the adsorption phase.

Some improvements need to be made before publication:

  • the paragraph between lines 86 to 108 should be moved in the introduction.
  • line 107: the average amount of cellulose, lignin and hemicellulose in cocoa could be given.
  • line 132: explain UDS1 Figures 3, 4 and 5; the colours of the curves are not clear.

The discussion is very poor. The authors need to further develop the advantage of this biomass over others already studied
