This paper is a numerical study of a multi-stage sleeve control valve with different openings. I applaud the authors for such an in-depth study, however the paper can be published with major modifications, and my comments are as follow:

1-      English writing needs some corrections, and some of the governing equations need to be re-typed

2-      Your abstract need some hints of results and with numbers (quantifying the results)

3-      Figure 4 must be re plotted and your figures should be consistent

4-      What is Cv (did you define it in the text?)

5-      The paper lacks recommendation and suggestion for a new design based on the simulation results, what changes in the geometry of valve need to be done for improvement ?

This paper is concerned with the Flow characteristics study of high parameter multi-stage sleeve 2 control valve. Improve the manuscript further, the authors should revise it taking into account the following comments:

1.      Why the pressure term is missing in the energy equation which is the vital part of compressible fluid.

2.      What is lambda and q in the equation 3.

3.      Explain in detail how the authors calculate meu dash in equation 8 and what does it represent.

4.      Boundary conditions are missing in the manuscript.

5.      Literature is not sufficient include some reference related to the topics: Journal of Thermal Analysis and Calorimetry (2021) 143:2775–2787. Advances in Mechanical Engineering 2021, DOI: 10.1177/16878140211010003.

6.      Why the error increases as the opening increases? 13% error is very large it’s not acceptable in numerical simulation.

7.      Many parameters are not well defined in equations 9 and 10.

8.      Discussion of figure 17 is missing and figure 18 is also missing.

9.      Improve the discussion of figure 13.

10.  Improve the quality of figures 3 and 4. It’s hard to read the values. Similarly, it’s hard to read the values of x axis in figures 9 to 12, 14, 16 and 17.

11.   Authors should add appropriate references for equations 3, 8, 9 and 10.
