The paper solves very important topic of gridded meteorological data with crop sensitivity assessment to temperature changes in the Mediterranean basin, and it is very well done. The paper is easy to read, even though there are many figures. All figures are clear, at a high graphic level. I appreciate to move figures in the supplementary section (already done).
Results are described very well, including tables and figures with capture, and discussion is reasonably long. The most important findings are summarized in the conclusion part.
I recommend to publish this paper in this form.

Table 1 – better description of the shortcut, such as QQ - not everyone is checking also text in first time.
Köppen classification – reference?
Fig. 4 – too small font in the graph, it should be same as in other graphs, such as Fig. 6. Also the fond is stretched, probably with whole graph.
l. 402 discussion over results, which are not shown is strange.
Fig. 8 and 9 should be better described, hard to understand.
EOBS-0.1, the best gridded product, with respect to observations: 536
• underestimated monthly and seasonal averages of Tmax, Tmin and Prec, and 537 underestimated related to temperature (days with Tmax>25°C, Tmax<0°C, Tmin>20°C, and Tmin<0°C) and precipitation (days with Prec≥0.1mm, Prec≥1mm, and the 95th and 539 99th percentiles) extreme indices.
Those limits of the models are in my oppinion very important.
section 2 – The research and used models are not very straithforward, probably some scheme of the work steps and use of the datasats etc. would be useful. A lot of model shortcut can create confusion.

Thank you for accepting my comments. Be aware of the aspect ratio in the figures, the fonts are slightly deformed (new flow chart).

New flowchart was added (see Fig. 2)
