Round 1

Reviewer 1 Report

Comments and Suggestions for Authors

The paper ”Synthesis and assembly of pie-shaped CoMoO4 nanomaterials into asymmetric supercapacitors for performance studies” is suitable for publication in Coatings Journal as it is. I am a researcher in the field of Material Science and I consider that the paper has all the required experiments, like  SEM and TEM analysis for microstructure characterization, XRD diffractions for compound identification, EDS map for chemical composition corrosion analysis, and photocatalytic degradation. The conclusions are well written in terms of results.

Comments and Suggestions for Authors

The reviewer found the idea of the submitted manuscript titled ‘Synthesis and Assembly of Pie-Shaped CoMoO4 Nanomaterials into Asymmetric Supercapacitors for Performance Studies’ interesting and can be published in Coatings. However, before finalizing this article for publication, please see the following points:

You need to include one recent reference to support the sentence written: Because of this, countries all over the world spare no effort to the research and development of supercapacitors. [?]

What is the meaning of @ here in NiCo2O4@CoMoO4 ?

Why authors fabricated pie-shaped CoMoO4 nanomaterials? they have not mentioned the appropriate reason here

In Figure 1, I do not agree with the authors that they have shown the images of Mo, O, and Co without the EDX scan and no percentages of elemental analysis. This is a very vague concept/image to present here,

In Figure 3, the authors have illustrated the CV curves of CoMoO4 nanoparticles at different scan rates. I appreciated the efforts. However, I would recommend the authors to bold the graphical lines and make the graph more readable for the readers. can the authors provide values at 1 mV/s?

I have not any clue about the appropriate mixing of CNT in the sample, please make this point clear.

It is needed to work on the figures and the spell checks. There is non-uniformity in defining/font size of legends/ Axis labels of figures, for example, see figure 8(a).

Comments and Suggestions for Authors

This manuscript can be accepted after minor revision.

1. XRD color is not standard. Please make it black and add JCPDS number.

2. Add weight percenatge in the EDX figure.

3. Add reference for equation 1_5.

4. Add reference for equation 6_8.

5. Provide BET surface area of the catalyst.

6. XRD after catalysis should be given.

7. Conclusion need to be improved.

8. Some relevant article such as J. Environmental Chemical Engineering, 2019,7, 103347; Microchemical Journal, 2021, 169, 106583 can be included in the introduction part.
