The manuscript “Forever young? Late shoot pruning affects phenological development, physiology, yield and wine quality of field-grown Vitis vinifera cv. Malbec” determine late shoot pruning (LSP) on Malbec vines grown in Mediterranean conditions during three consecutive seasons (2016-2018) in Israel. The manuscript brings new elements to existing knowledge about late shoot pruning on vine grown.
The manuscript is prepared professionally. It includes a well-crafted abstract and an exhaustive introduction that justifies the research undertaken. The introduction points to the deficiencies in the literature on the subject. The aim is clearly defined. Modern analytical methods were used in the research. The discussion of the results is well prepared. The conclusions are well-defined. The illustrative material is appropriate.
In my opinion, the manuscript needs some corrections.
Detailed comments:
Title: Should be reconsidered to find better one
Abstract: Should be included results in particular some numeric data obtained from results.
Introduction - The introduction is enough in my opinion.
