Abstract
1. Introduction
1.1. Palatal or Vestibular Inclusion of the Impacted Canine
1.2. The Importance of CBCT in the Diagnosis of Canine Impaction
2. Materials and Methods
- Presence of a unilateral impaction of the maxillary canine (experimental group);
- Spontaneous eruption of the contralateral canine (control group);
- Patients still in the growth phase, with all teeth either fully erupted in the arch;
- No history of facial trauma, systemic disease, facial or dental asymmetries, periapical or periradicular lesions, or periodontal/endodontic radiolucencies;
- No vertical or horizontal loss of alveolar bone.
- Cervical, located 3 mm apical to the cemento-enamel junction (CEJ);
- Intermediate, located 8 mm apical to the CEJ;
- Apical, located 1 mm coronal to the root apex.
