Round 1

Reviewer 1 Report

The paper is processed precisely and written at a high scientific and professional level. Its focus is very current and it clearly belongs to the topics of Applied Science. The work presents a model of a dynamic road network based on graph theory and time-varying traffic data in combination with selected road traffic parameters. The authors model the spatio-temporal distribution characteristics of EV travel. In particular, I see the incorporation of real-time road network data into the classic Dijkstra algorithm for finding the optimal path in a graph as a benefit.

The idea that at each node the current real-time impedance of the path is used subsequently as the EV route update target is relevant. It is questionable whether EV energy consumption can really be accurately captured in this way.

The presented case study is interesting and inspiring, especially the classification of EV travel chains based on the distribution of road network regions and EV routing. I was interested in the article.

Topics, recommendations:

- to better define the conditions and limitations for the modeling and optimization method used

- expand the conclusions, highlight the results, benefits and possibilities of further use of the presented research

- consider the inclusion of other references outside of China, the issue is dealt with professionally all over the world (North America, Australia, Europe).

To improve readability, some node descriptions in Figures 10 and 12 should be moved.

Dear respected authors,

  1. The abstract section is fine, and it reflects the aims of the study well. However, the main numeric results, such as the percentage of the travel cost reduction, should be mentioned in this part. In addition, it should be clear that a standard test problem has been used in this study, data gathering for a real case has been done for this study, etc.
  2. Keywords should be selected based on the importance and frequent repetition of the phrases in the study. Considering this issue, some keywords should be revised, as “power-traffic coupling network” has not been repeated in text at all and “improved Dijkstra's 26 algorithm” has been mentioned only once.
  3. As the Introduction section contains both an introduction and a literature review, more studies among the literature should be covered, and the connection between the aim of this study and the literature gap should be highlighted.
  4. Defining an abbreviation once is enough in the body of the text. In lines 36 and 103, electric vehicles (EVs) have been defined, with the second one being unnecessary. Please check the other abbreviations.
  5. The numbering and measurement of the horizontal axis in Figure 11 need to be revised. The units of the axis should be added to the figure.
  6. The limitations of the study and future research should be mentioned in the conclusion section.

The English level of text needs to be improved.

The discussion on Strategy for Electric Vehicle Routing under Traffic Impedance for Optimization is a good idea for future of EVs. One of the concerns in transportation is road congestion or traffic.

1. In section 5.4 discuss Analysis of the Impacts on the Transportation Side, in some case the infrastructure of the road may different although this research mention in the case of an area, traffic may have different specially in developing city with various model of driver. Additional method to approach for multi case of the road (traffic) then the model become valid in many areas (suggestion).

2. Figure 13 in page 17 should figure 16

3. Figure 17 in page 19 should figure 18

Thank you.
