Volatile Freight Rates in Maritime Container Industry in Times of Crises
Round 1
Reviewer 1 Report
This article presents a analysis of volitile freight rates in maritime container industry in times of crises. The paper addresses an interesting topic despite the merits, there are some issues to be considered to improve the paper.
Abstract
The abstract is quite long and looks like an introduction, it would be appropriate to shorten this part and define only what is the basic background, how the analysis was carried out and the main conclusions of the study.
Keywords
I recommend using "volitile freight rates" and "crises" instead of the keywords "COVID-19 pandemic" and "Russian invasion of Ukraine"
General
Unite in the text aggression and invasion use only one. In the graphs of Figure 4 and 5, add data label above the columns. Expand the Conclusion with the main statistical data you found, since chapter 3 is quite extensive. You are missing the Author Contributions, Funding, Institutional Review Board Statement, Informed Consent Statement, Data Availability Statement and Conflicts of Interest section. You have the wrong formatted references in the Journal ACS is used.
Overall, the paper is good, and I wish the authors good luck in further research.

Reviewer 2 Report
This manuscript presents the impact of the crises on the maritime container industry and the analysis of the maritime freight rates. Some of the corrections are as follows.
- The abstract should be revised. It should be content-specific.
- In the introduction section, different model elements are introduced sequentially, and there is no coherence between different paragraphs. The role of the introduction is to highlight the importance of the research and pose some research questions which cannot be seen in the introduction section of this paper.
- The literature section is not well-structured, and there is no coherence between different paragraphs. Also, the literature is not comprehensive.
- The methodology section must be included to explain the procedure and topics to analyze the impact of the crises on the maritime container industry.
- The language of the paper needs a complete revision. There are several typos and errors which should be corrected.
- Revise the paper, including managerial insights of this problem and the novelty of this paper compared to the existing literature.
- The results are not linked as properly with implications and conclusions.
- The conclusion section is weak, and the readability should be increased.
