Round 1

Reviewer 1 Report

It is an interesting case that describes a clear action plan for managing orthodontic pathology in children. However in the discussion section I recommend mentioning the possible use of sonography for imaging sinus and dental pathology in children without the use of xray. One possible article to use is written by Neagos, A., Dumitru, M., Vrinceanu, D., Costache, A., Marinescu, A.N., & Cergan, R. (2021). Ultrasonography used in the diagnosis of chronic rhinosinusitis: From experimental imaging to clinical practice. Experimental and Therapeutic Medicine, 21, 611. https://doi.org/10.3892/etm.2021.1004. I congratulate you on your good work.

Answer: Thank you for your comment. To improve the discussion section, the additional sentences were added to so as to explain the significance of alternative diagnostic method which is the sonography. The change in manuscript was done in lines 214-223. The references were enriched with four papers [28-31], including inter alia the paper you have recommended [28]

We are beholden for the time and effort that you have devoted to give a valuable response to our submission. We are grateful for insightful remarks on our paper.

Reviewer 2 Report

This article aims to present a case of odontogenic cyst in a young patient.

The Introduction is completed and exhaustive.  Authors should check text in line 42. (Line 41 ..."cysts and tumors that can be concomitant with an eruption disturbance are presented"... does not continue in line 42).

However the case presentation is very poor in iconography and some images are out of focus and low quality.

Authors should add initial and final hig quality extraoral, intraoral photo, initial and final radiographs (cefalometric tracing, panoramic, etc..) in order to complete and better clarify the text.

Dear Sir/Madam,

We are very thankful for your review and  suggestions to improve the quality of manuscript. All your comments were addressed accordingly: the line is given and the changed text.

Comment 1:

“Authors should check text in line 42. (Line 41 ..."cysts and tumors that can be concomitant with an eruption disturbance are presented"... does not continue in line 42).”

Answer: Thank you for your comment. The change in line 42 was made so as to maintain the coherency of the text.

Comment 2 :

“However the case presentation is very poor in iconography and some images are out of focus and low quality. Authors should add initial and final hig quality extraoral, intraoral photo, initial and final radiographs (cefalometric tracing, panoramic, etc..) in order to complete and better clarify the text.

Answer: Thank you for your comment. The iconography was enriched according to your suggestions. The quality of images was improved. We added initial extraoral pictures and additional intraoral pictures(initial and in the course of treatment) The figure 9 is more clear. However, the main aim of the paper was to present the safest and the most efficient diagnostic algorithm for odontogenic cyst at developmental age. So as to avoid unncecessary exposure our patient for X-radiation, at the beginning of the treatment we decided not to refer him for lateral cephalogram, because cephalometric tracings were not prerequisite to start surgical treatment. Cephalometric analysis, performed during the further step of orthodontic treatment goes beyond the scope of the aim of presented paper,

We beholden for the time and effort that you have devoted to give a valuable response to our submission. We are grateful for insightful remarks on our paper.

Round 2

Reviewer 2 Report

In this revised version, the iconography has been sligthly improved, but still below acceptable level.

I suggest the Authors to have a look for example at the article "Marsupialization of a dentigerous 309 cyst followed by orthodontic traction of two retained teeth: a case report. International orthodontics, 17(2), 365-374" (Maltoni, I., Maltoni, M., Santucci, G., Ramina, F., Lombardo, L., & Siciliani, G. (2019).

Dear Reviewer,

Thank you for the time  you have devoted to provide the second revision of our manuscript.

According to your main remark:

In this revised version, the iconography has been sligthly improved, but still below acceptable level. I suggest the Authors to have a look for example at the article "Marsupialization of a dentigerous 309 cyst followed by orthodontic traction of two retained teeth: a case report. International orthodontics, 17(2), 365-374" (Maltoni, I., Maltoni, M., Santucci, G., Ramina, F., Lombardo, L., & Siciliani, G. (2019).

Thank you for suggestion of the paper. In our case  the treatment progress is widely described with adequate photographical and radiological presentation. The quality of previously attached figures was improved once again so as to achieve better resolution and sharpness. We have provided seven additional figures to illustrate our case better. Especially, high-quality CBCT images from axial, sagittal and coronal view are worth noting. They present the treatment progress and emphasize how valuable diagnostic tool CBCT is.

We are grateful for insightful remarks on our paper.
