Reviewer 2 Report
The paper is interesting but needs some revision. The following comments are raised to improve the quality of the present paper.
1- Please focus the abstract on your study and your results. More generally, I suggest focusing the manuscript on the scientific results. Please focus the improve needs for the proposed tool’s efficiency.
2-The article has only 17 references, listed in the scope of the paper. In my opinion, the state of the art needs to be increased to allow for a better Introduction. For example, discus about analytical and numerical methodologies which can applied to timber elements with safety, introduce the subject about timber elements at high temperatures…
In the “Introduction” or ‘’Background’’ section, it is suggested to cite and discuss more literature relevant to the topics before mentioned. Some references are recommended:
• Analysis of simply supported wood beams at ambient and high temperatures. International Journal of Engineering and Technology, 7(2):180-183. (2008). DOI:10.14419/ijet.v7i2.23.11911.
3-Please remove all file names with extension, that are identified in all images on the manuscript (example NODE.png, etc).
4-In the name of all software description introduce the registration symbol ® (example: ANSYS® )
5-All variables that are represented in tables or equations need to be identified in the manuscript.
6-Figure 6 is not a good drawing. The dimensions line arrows aren’t very well represented.
7-The equations need to be numbered.
8-In the convergence of displacements, it will be better including a calculated error.
9-About the mechanical properties of the material, what is your expectation about the use of orthotropic material for timber?
10-At the end, future work should be presented.
