Round 1

Reviewer 1 Report

The article is very interesting and didactic. I just suggest clarifying the comment in parentheses (i.e. topical application of imiquimod) in the first paragraph of the section "Role of Langerhans cells in psoriasis", line 111.

Author Response

We would like to thank the reviewers for all the comments and indications and for the precious time taken to revise our work. We have addressed all comments and highlighted them in the revised version in red.

Our answers are as follows:

The article is very interesting and didactic.

A: Thank you for your appreciation

I just suggest clarifying the comment in parentheses (i.e. topical application of imiquimod) in the first paragraph of the section "Role of Langerhans cells in psoriasis", line 111.

A: We thank the reviewer for the comment. We have inserted now a phrase showing in general what is this animal model about and the fact that Imiquimod topical application induces psoriasis in the animal model.

Langerhans cells – revising their role in skin pathologies

The main aim of the Review was detailed characteristics of mechanism of Langerhans cells in different skin pathologies, what is clearly presented in the Abstract part.

In my opinion, the article is thoughtful and well-organized.

The concise introduction clearly indicates the purposeof the work. It is a good solution, that we have a schema in that part.

Chapters separated according to inflammation and inflammation-mediated skin pathologies and skin cancers consists of a description of mechanism of Lc. Moreover, the figures – both schema and images (6) presented in the text are legible, placed in the right places, complementing the text.

In addition, a short summary has been presented in the form of a table, that helps the reader to organize the information.

The Conclusion chapter clearly summary the Rewiev.

Authors chose 86 references to their article, including about 20 from the last three years, what

proves a very good analysis of the available literature and the newest studies.

In my opinion, the Review is a much needed summary of participation of Lc in the pathogenesis of skin diseases .
