This work contain s good description of metalliferous sediments from the Carlsberg Ridge tha merits publication.

I find, however, that the authors' interpretation does not entirely make the data justice. In general, the authors simply adhere to previous interpretations with little or no criticism. In some other jnstances, they attribute to their numerical calculations a significance that goes, in my opinion, far beyond from that of the available data.

Therefore, I strongly recommend revision before publication, mainly focused in a more detailed interpretation of the (interesting) data the authors show.

Finally, I think that the English language must be improved with the help and advice of a person having English as his/her mother's tongue.
